Xavier’s Lesson
Written by Colleen B. 5-M

One day, an alien was born. He was a
different alien because he had an amazing
talent, which was painting. He made
wonderful paintings
of outer space.
That was awkward
because usually
aliens can’t paint,
so Xavier was
feeling pretty good
about himself,
until the other
aliens found out.
Then Xavier was
very down, so one
night he planned
to run away. Since
he knew that his
mother would
weep, Xavier left them a painting of their
family with a goodbye letter. His parents
were astonished and sad. When he got
out of the house he took his space ship to
the closest planet with life forms. When
Xavier reached Earth, he discovered new
sites, smells, and sounds. There he saw
many colors he had never seen before:

emerald, topaz, ruby, violet, aqua, and
all the neon colors. Xavier completely
missed the fact that every body was
staring at him; but then Xavier noticed
the humans. When he said hello in an
alien language, the streets went scarce.
He found somewhere to sleep. When he
woke up the next morning, the streets
were still bare so he thought he might
want to get a disguise. He got a baseball
cap, long pants, a winter coat and boots.
There was one problem, it was the middle
of summer and it was hot. So he got a big
fan and bottled water. Many days passed
and everything was going smoothly for
Xavier. He had a job and a home and was
okay on money, but one day while eating
lunch a space ship came down from the
sky. He had immediately recognized it.
It was Xavier’s parents. They took him
home. His adventure on earth was short
but amazingly worthwhile. He drew his
experience and created a collage of his
life with the earthlings. Finally, the others
accepted him. Everyone wanted to be his
friend and learn his painting techniques.
He started a fabulous art studio where he
taught aliens to paint marvelous pictures.
He realized that his talent was very unique
and he was happy sharing it with others.
