The Dragon and the Slayer
By Robert D’Loie
One day a dragon slayer cat, named
dog, had to go out and get food
for his kingdom. On the way, he
stopped by an old cave. He thought
it would be a good place to find
rocks for his collection. He went
in very deep until there was barely
any light. He lit a match and went
deeper into the cave. He found a
pink, sparkly, triangular rock. He
couldn’t pick it up; it was too heavy
but he tried with all his strength.
After a little while, he saw that the
rock moved. He saw that it was
connected to a long tail-like thing
with more rocks on top like scales.
He resumed his mission of gathering
the food. On his way back, he
wondered if the rocks were still
there. He went back inside the cave
to the place where he first saw the
rock. He found it. This time he felt a
little braver and much more curious.
Again, he lit a match so he could
see. The sparkly scale-like rocks
grew bigger and bigger. He went a
bit farther and saw a big shining
pink lump with the scales going
across it like a spine. He looked
around and saw a huge head and
four claws. It was a dragon! He was
surprised because he hadn’t seen
one for ten years.
Everyone thought that he had slayed
all the dragons in the country years
ago. He fell over in shock. It was
so beautiful. This creature was
dazzling. While he waited until
it woke up, he thought he might
not want to slay the last dragon.
This wasn’t long because when he
fell, he knocked into a stalactite,
which broke and landed on the
dragon’s head. She let out a bonerattling yawn. He walked in front

Her eyes opened wide so she could

couldn’t because she felt another
presence. She heard a rock shift and
her ears stood straight up to listen.
She got up and felt around with her
tongue. She found him and grabbed
him with her tongue. He did not
struggle but jumped off to the
ground. He tasted so good she had
