Vigilance Awareness Period
(25.10.2010 – 01.11.2010)
In pursuance of the directions issued by the Central Vigilance Commission vide their
letter No. 010A/GL/056/103092, dated 28.09.2010, the National Institute of Open Schooling
(NIOS) has decided to observe “VIGILANCE AWARENESS PERIOD” (VAP) from
25.10.2010 to 01.11.2010.

This year the main focus of observing Vigilance Awareness Period is “Generation of
Awareness and Publicity against Corruption”. Emphasis is required to be given on
spreading awareness against the harmful effect of corruption and to have an effective anticorruption campaign this year.

The observance of the Vigilance Awareness Period shall commence with the
PLEDGE (copy enclosed) on 25th October, 2010 at 11.00 AM at the NIOS Headquarters, its
Regional Centres, Sub Regional Centres in the country.

All the officers/staff members at the NIOS Headquarters are requested to
assemble at 11.00 AM (sharp) on Monday the 25th October, 2010 in the Atrium (at the
ground floor), A-24/25, Sector 62, Noida to take the PLEDGE.

Likewise the Regional Directors and Incharges of Sub Regional Centres in the
country may please instruct their respective staff members to take the PLEDGE in their
respective offices.

All the offices of NIOS will display Banners, Posters etc. at prime locations in arrange
photographs, CDs etc. and provide to the undersigned in connection with observance of the
VAP.
