Description zhong 4 Memorizing Practice Give some lists that can be memorized by using mnemonic to memory e.g. kalium, natrium, kalsium, . . . . kanaka . . . zhong 5 Memorizing practice • Some relaxing way for practizing our memory • ---- see supporting material 2 zhong 6 Simultaneous interpreting practice students work in pair • A student reads a sentence, another student interprets it. • A student read a short paragraph, another student interprets it. • The students do the same thing but they should increase the speed • Then the material is changed into the scientific one, or a speech etc. • Using authentic material • Listen to a tape recorder, t zhong 7 Simultaneous interpreting practice • Students work individually using authentic material • Listen to a tape recorder and translate sentence by sentence (e.g. from TOEFL) • Listen to a tape recorder for a short paragraph – let the students stop after some time – after an idea is completed • Let the students practice with the material for seminar or news etc. zhong 8 Conclusion • Memorizing can be improved by practising • Simultaneous interpreting should be done step by step. zhong 9
