CSU’s Bachelor of Communication (Public Relations) provides you with the skills and knowledge to plan and manage communication to influence opinions or behaviours. Employment opportunities for people with public relations skills continue to grow and, as a graduate, you will be able to pursue diverse and challenging careers. A double degree option is also available, combining study of public relations with business studies. What will I learn? Extensive practical experience is provided through study tours, case studies and client projects in core subjects, covering planning and management of communication strategies, ensuring when you graduate, you have a portfolio of work that demonstrates your expertise. All these are grounded on critical inquiry aimed at giving you indepth knowledge for further research and career progression. Within the course, you will develop public relations skills through core subjects, and can select from a range of business electives to develop a special area of expertise. You will work in teams on real projects in the Bathurst, Oberon and Orange region to gain experience before completing an internship. You will complete at least four weeks of internship in corporations, consultancies or notfor-profit sectors, depending on your area of interest. Internships are carried out in major public relations firms and corporate public affairs offices to equip you with practical skills and experience working with real clients, on real projects.
