Studying Accounting at Charles Sturt University (CSU) provides you with analytical,

The Bachelor of Accounting at CSU is widely recognised and valued, with 70% of accountants
in inland NSW having studied at CSU. At CSU, you have the flexibility to study in a way that suits
you. You can study on campus, or online from anywhere in Australia or the world. The course
is usually completed over three years of full-time study or six years of part-time study. Credit is
available for previous Certificate IV and/or Diploma level study.
You won’t just learn accounting as you study, you will live it: CSU’s Bachelor of Accounting
incorporates a structured work placement as part of the degree, giving you the chance to
experience what a career in accounting could be like. You’ll also start building important
contacts in industry who can give you advice on seeking employment. Workplace learning can
be completed anywhere in Australia, or there may be opportunities for international placements.
Gain a passport to seek globally recognised professional qualifications: This course is
accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia. Graduating
from CSU is the first step to becoming a Chartered Accountant or a CPA, and joining a
worldwide network of accountants, highly sought after by employers in Australia and overseas.
Combine Accounting with another discipline: This course gives you room to specialise in
another discipline as well as Accounting. Joint Studies are available in banking, economics,
finance, financial planning, human resource management, marketing, IT or even in non-business
areas such as cultural heritage management, psychology or sociology.

I have always worked in the Finance industry
and completing this course will give me the
formal qualifications and opportunities to work
in other areas that I may not have considered
previously. There have been some areas of
accounting including law and economics
that I would never have considered to be
enjoyable, but I am now more confident
that I can experience many different types
of jobs. Accounting is such a broad field,

Career opportunities for Accounting graduates are diverse and could
exist in almost any industry, all over the world. You could work in:

public practice: auditing, business advisory services, taxation,
management consulting, insolvency and corporate recovery, information
technology or external reporting

commerce and industry: management accounting, budget planning
and control, taxation planning, information systems design, electronic
data processing, financial accounting and financial management, internal
auditing, policy formulation, strategic planning, team research, product
planning and marketing
•
government, semi-government and non-profit organisations: financial
accountability, budgeting and performance measurement, accounting
control systems, policy formulation, price surveillance, cost / benefit
analysis, cost / effectiveness analysis.

Graduates are eligible to enrol in CPA and Chartered Accountants
