Summer School 2014 This single document for summer sessions provides general guidelines and specific links to web sites that will serve faculty and staff throughout Summer 2014. This document will be available for reference throughout the summer at http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/html/correspondence.htm Beginning of Term Guidelines Registration Portal. Detailed information is available at: www.registrar.clemson.edu/portal/ Navigating Multiple Terms. There is only one Summer term made up of Long Summer, First Summer, Second Summer, Minimester A, Minimester B, Minimester C and Minimester D. At any time, three terms will be meeting simultaneously. Key dates for each specific term can be found at http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/html/summerkeydates.htm. Class Rolls. Class rolls are available in iROAR > Faculty Services. Course Addition/Cancellation. Registration Coordinators can add or delete courses in iROAR through the first day of class for each term. Credit Hour Limits in Summer 2014 Undergraduate students may register for a total of 19 credits during the summer term. Exceptions to these credit hour limits must be approved by the student’s advisor. Advisors should email [email protected] to have limits increased. Graduate students may register for a total of 15 credits during the summer term. Students should contact Kaye Rackley ([email protected]) or Dave Fleming ([email protected]) to have their credit hour limit increased. Reporting Grades Instructions for submitting grades in iROAR can be found at: http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/html/trainingInstructor.htm. The deadline for submitting grades for each specific summer term is at http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/pdf/academicCalendar.pdf. Where possible, submitting grades early for graduate research credits and courses not requiring a final examination greatly assists the grade collection process. Important Information About Grade Entry: Only primary instructors can submit grades. When grades are processed (rolled to Academic History), any grades that have been entered will be processed and become visible to students. When Final Grade entry is turned off for processing candidates, this message will display: The Final Grade Worksheet is unavailable. An e-mail will be sent from the Registrar’s Office to all instructors and registration coordinators after candidates’ grades have been processed and the system is available again. Once grades have been rolled to Academic History, any adjustment to a grade will require a grade correction. Contact Enrolled Student Services (656-2174) to request a Grade Correction Form. Corrected grades will only be visible on the student’s transcript available in iROAR: Faculty Services > Student Information Menu > Academic Transcript. If a grade was entered after the deadline when the system was off, NG (No Grade) will be entered. The Late Grade Form (http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/secure/f2/lateGradeForm.htm) must be used to submit the grade at that point. Reminder: Students’ end-of-semester grades must be submitted via iROAR. Grades recorded in Blackboard are outside the iROAR grade collection system. Grade Related Policies I – Incomplete: Indicates a relatively small part of the semester’s work remains undone, and the I grade is calculated as an F until the work is made up (2013-2014 Undergraduate Announcements, p.26). Do not use I grade for graduate research 8910 and 9910, pending academic integrity decisions, enrollment problems, etc. encountered when entering grades. Rather, contact Registration Services (656-2305) for assistance. Instructors who need to report a final grade for an incomplete should go to www.registrar.clemson.edu and click on Faculty & Staff > Forms. Enrollment During Last Five Weeks: A student who is enrolled at any point after the last day to drop without record will have final grades recorded. See http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/pdf/academicCalendar.pdf for specific dates for summer terms (2013-14 Undergraduate Announcements, p. 27). Pass-No Pass Grades: When juniors and seniors receive approval to take a standard graded (A, B, C, D, F) elective course on a Pass/No Pass basis, only Pass (P) and No Pass (NP) are available in iROAR. A grade of P should be submitted for coursework quality C or higher and NP for coursework quality D or F. Final Examination: Instructors may excuse from the final exam students who have a grade of A on coursework prior to the final exam. For all other students, final exams must be given or due on the dates and at the times designated in the final examination schedule (http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/html/examSched.htm), except in laboratory and one-credit-hour courses where the final exam will be given at the last class meeting.
