Autism Inclusion Project

Project ACT is excited to announce the
Autism Inclusion Project
The Autism Inclusion Project supports children (birth to age 12) who are being
evaluated for, or have a diagnosis of, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and who are attending
child care or out of school time programs in Baltimore County or Baltimore City.
Children may be referred for FREE supportive services by their child care program,
parent or guardian. With parent permission, our Inclusion Specialists will design an
individual support plan and work with program staff to help support and fully include
children with an autism diagnosis in their child care setting.
The Autism Inclusion Project can help by:
 Providing training, coaching and mentoring to program staff in order to
promote inclusion and utilize developmentally appropriate practices to
help the child become successful and remain in care
 Support the child by assisting them in developing the necessary skills to
engage successfully in the classroom routine
 Increase peer acceptance and understanding of children who have an
autism diagnosis or who are exhibiting autism-like red flags
 Assist families in finding and maintaining adequate care for their child
