Quick Start Guide
Tools
All tools to help navigate the viewer, print a map, and get oriented to a specific location are
under the “I want to…” menu:
Click to dropdown tools:
○
Zoom to an Area of Interest: There are four choices: Area of Critical
Environmental Concern (ACEC), County, Recreation Management Area (RMA),
and Township.
○
Remove Layer Filters & Highlights: Clears any layer filter that was applied or
any highlighted records.
○
Print a Map: Allows a user to view a printable map of the area of interest.
○
Find Data On the Map: Retrieves information on layers in the interactive map. If
features are found with this tool, a table will appear at the bottom with attributes
of the data.
○
Change Visible Map Layers: Opens the Map Layers panel on the left hand side
to allow a user to toggle layers on and off.
o
Return to Initial Map Extent: Sets the map extent to the initial extent.

View Help Document: View this document.
Map Layers
o
Check the box next to a layer within a group to make visible on the map.
o
Use the Transparency Slider to adjust transparency.
o
Click the minus sign next to a group to minimize a group of layers.
o
Access the legend or layer list using this toggle:
o Sub-layers that are greyed out are not visible at the current scale. Zoom in to
make them visible:
A Few Tips
o
Use the
o
Left click (or tap) a feature(s) in the map to get map tips about that feature(s).
and
button to zoom in and out.
o Type in the search window to retrieve records that match your search. You may
also use this search box to search for an address.
o Use the location tool
to zoom to your current location. You may be asked
to allow the website to know your location. Additionally, if using a handheld device, you
may need to apply additional settings to enable this feature.
