Subject: 2012 Oregon/Washington Biennial Recreation NLCS-Youth Workshop
The Recreation, National Landscape Conservation System, and Youth Workshop will be held in Portland
this year at the Embassy Suites – Downtown, located at 319 SW Pine Street, Portland, Oregon. The
workshop will begin on Tuesday, April 10, at 8:00 A.M. and end on Thursday, April 12, at 3:45 P.M.
Each district will receive $2,000 in the Annual Work Plan to assist in the travel costs for three individuals
– excluding the Salem District.
A block of rooms has been reserved under the name BLM Recreation Group at the Embassy Suites
Hotel –Downtown Portland. Please make reservations no later than March 10th, 2012. The rooms have
been reserved within the per diem rate of $113.00. Please call 1-800-643-7892 for reservations.
Remember, to guarantee a room at the per diem rate, you must call by March 10th, 2012.
A draft agenda is attached. Each district will get a 15 minute block of time to share a specific issue,
accomplishment, unique niche, or a program overview that can benefit the group. Please call Chris Dent,
Lead Outdoor Recreation Planner, at 503-808-6215 if you have any questions.
Districts with Unions are reminded to notify their unions of this information bulletin and satisfy any
bargaining obligations before implementation. Your servicing Human Resources Office or Labor
Relations Specialist can provide you with assistance in this matter.
