Spokane, Wash. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently announced that it is seeking public
nominations for open positions on the Eastern Washington Resource Advisory Council (EWRAC) which
advises the BLM’s Spokane District on public land issues. The nomination period ends Monday, May 2.
Additional information about the EWRAC, to include the application form, is available online at:

“The BLM Resource Advisory Councils are an important forum for the community conversation that is a
key component of public land management,” said Acting State Director for BLM Oregon and Washington
Jamie Connell. “With representatives with different land use perspectives, the RACs give community
members an opportunity to dig into local issues and explore possible solutions.”
The EWRAC has openings in the following categories:
Representative of state, county, or local elected office; representative of Indian Tribes within or adjacent
to the area for which the RAC is organized; representative of the public-at-large; representative of
academia; representative associated with energy and mineral development; representative of
transportation or rights-of-way; representative of off-highway vehicle use; and representative of
commercial recreation.
Individuals may nominate themselves or others to serve on an advisory council. Nominees, who must be
residents of Washington, will be judged on the basis of their training, education, and knowledge of the
council’s geographical area. Nominees should also demonstrate a commitment to consensus building and
collaborative decision making. All nominations must be accompanied by letters of reference from any
represented interests or organizations, a completed and signed RAC application, and any other
information that speaks to the nominee’s qualifications.
All nomination documents must be received by Monday, May 2 and may be sent to Jeff Clark, BLM
Spokane District, 1103 N. Fancher Rd. Spokane Valley, WA 99212 or emailed to [email protected] or
faxed to (509) 536-1275.
