Searching for the Latest Closed MC Using Action Codes Use Action Code Report to find information on what Mining Claims were closed in the last year and what mining claims were recorded in the last month. Connect to the LR2000 website at http://www.blm.gov/lr2000. Use Internet Explorer 6 or newer. Allow Pop-Ups for www.blm.gov. Click “Reports” on the main menu. Then select “MC Action Code”. Select “County” and “Action Date” from the optional criteria. Click “Select Criteria”. To specify each attribute of the report click “Set”. Set each attribute as described below. Admin State –Set by highlighting the admin state in the “Select Admin State” field. There are 11 BLM Admin states that manage one or more states. Some of the states that administer more than one state: CO (CO) WY (NE & WY), MT (MT, ND & SD) NM (KS, NM, OK, TX), OR (OR & WA), ES (all states east of the Mississippi River). Action Code – Select “Equals” from the scroll bar. In the “Enter Action Code” field enter in one of the following codes. Sort the “Action Codes” by the code or the name by clicking on the appropriate sort button. Enter the appropriate code: 631 – ABANDONMENT CLAIM VOID – To determine what mining claims were abandoned during the last year. They may be abandoned because they didn’t pay the assessment, they don’t want the claim, etc. remarks. 395 – RECORDATION NOTICE RECD – To determine what mining claims were recorded with BLM during a certain time period. Remember it may take up to 3 months for a claim that is filed with BLM to be entered into the LR2000 system. Case Disposition – If using the 631 – ABANDONMENT CLAIM VOID code, select C-CLOSED to select only closed mining claims. If using the 395 – RECORDATION NOTICE RECD code, select AActive to select only active mining claims. County – Select County from list of counties. For example, select Lyon. Action Date – Select “Between” from the scroll bar. In the “Enter Action Date” field enter the dates in which to search between. Enter the dates as “MM/DD/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY”. The first date is the starting date and the second is the ending date. Enter each date and click the green check mark. For example, 09/01/2007, 02/01/2008. NOTE: When using the 631 – ABANDONMENT CLAIM VOID always use 09/01 of the current or previous year as the starting date since many of the claims are set to abandoned on this date. Remember it may take over 3 months for a mining claim to close. For 395 – RECORDATION NOTICE RECD use any date period but keep it small if there are many mining claims in the area. When finished, click the green check mark to move it into the selected box. If the dates aren’t highlighted in blue, “Select All”. Then click “Close”. Click “Run Report”. The criteria you selected will be displayed, make sure it is correct. Select OK to run report. The results will appear in a new browser window. Use the controls at the top of the report page to change report format, to go to the next page, and to save the report to PDF or Excel. To easily view the report, click on the PDF button. This provides for better viewing, paging, and printing.
