Tutor Training and Practicum 2011-2012 Getting a WAMAP account for Tutor Training and Practicum 1. Go to http://www.wamap.org. Do NOT attempt to log in or Register as a new student until you do a browser check. In your browser, click the link that says "Browser Check" (The picture below is not an active link. It's just a picture!) If you have any problems. 2. On the page that appears, you may be instructed to download and install browser plugins such as the Math Player, AdobeSVGViewer, and/or Math Fonts. Download and install all the plugins the browser check advises, RESTART your machine, and repeat the browser check to insure all is working properly. Generally: If you are using Internet Explorer 6 or higher, you will need to install the Math Player, and the AdobeSVGViewer. If you are using Firefox, you will need to install the Math Fonts. Firefox users will also usually see best results if they click the button "Force image based display" when logging in. Although we will not be using these features, I believe WAMAP requires them to run. 3. Once your browser is set up properly make your way back to the login and create an account on wamap.org (this does NOT register you for the course!). If you have already have a WAMAP account, log in to your account and click the button that says "Enroll in a new class" and then skip to Step 7 below. If you do not have a WAMAP account, make sure you are at http://wamap.org and then click on the link that says "Register as a new student" 4. On the registration page, pick a unique user name and password that you will remember. Pick something familiar and write it down. You should also enter your FULL name as it appears in your SCCC records. Finally, make sure you enter an email address you check on a regular basis. Click the "Sign Up" button when you are done. 5. If your username and other information is accepted, you will see a screen that tells you your account has been created. It also gives you a link to return to the login page, which you should do at this time. 6. At the login page, use your username and password to log in the site. 7. The system will as you for a Course ID and an Enrollment Key. The Course ID for 2011-2012 is 3512 The Enrollment Key is LSN2011. Enter those and then click the Sign In button 8. You should then see the Tutor Training and Practicum class listed under "Courses You're Taking." Click on the Tutor Training and Practicum link to enter the site.
