Greetings and Happy New Semester to Cuyamaca College!
I hope each of you had a chance to recharge and reinvigorate over the winter holiday. And I’m
sure that you have, like I, already forgotten most of the resolutions that were made for the new
year. The activity level on campus is ramping up and with it comes great energy and enthusiasm.
This missive marks the beginning of a monthly email correspondence from me that you will
receive, in 2012, on the 12th of each month. Cuyamaca College is a big place and has many,
many activities each week. The GCCCD entity is an even larger place. Communication is the key
to each of us connecting to the other and to having a broad understanding of the many ways in
which we serve students. Besides providing you with a copy of the monthly report that my office
prepares for the governing board, I endeavor to provide you with updates and insights to
particular events and situations that impact our lives here at Cuyamaca College. It is my hope
that you will find this email to be an efficient and effective way to stay “in the loop” with the
college(s) and the district.
I look forward to seeing most, if not all, of you on Wednesday, January 18th, at 10:30 A.M. in the
theatre for my first “State of the College” address. I will be highlighting a number of initiatives in
which we will be involved this semester and beyond, and sharing information important to our
work with students here at Cuyamaca College. This is a different format for the event that brings
us together to begin the spring semester. Also, I’ll be launching our new awards program and
presenting the first “The Cuyamaca Way” Awards. I think you will enjoy next week’s
“Convocation Lite.” Welcome back!
