High School Selection Process:
Award $750.00
I. Recommended schools visibly post and link to the Cuyamaca College Foundation for Grossmont-Cuyamaca College Application
for all eligible students to see and use to apply
II. High schools will designate their representative(s) to process and review eligible applications.
III. Representatives will select two final nominees (one male and one female only).
IV. The Final Nominees are required to have a SECOND letter of recommendation from either a Principal or a
Counselor included in their application package.
DEADLINE: High school representatives must submit the school's TWO FINALISTs completed scholarship application
packages to Cuyamaca College Financial Aid and Scholarship Office by March 24, 2014 by 1:00 P.M. (No Exceptions)

Submit your completed application package to the high school's scholarship representative by the
designated deadline date.

Cuyamaca College Selection Process:
1. The Cuyamaca Scholarship Committee will select the two awardees (one male and one female) to receive the
scholarships and two alternates.
2. The Cuyamaca College Scholarship Office will notify both the high schools and their selectees of the
committee's decision.
Terms of the Scholarship and Disbursement Process:
1. Recipient must be enrolled in at least 9 units for each semester (Fall 2017 and Spring 2018) at Cuyamaca
College and maintain a minimum 2.0 overall grade point average.
2. The Cuyamaca College Scholarship Specialist will verify enrollment on Census Day of each semester. Census dates
are
posted in the online academic catalog.
3. After enrollment is verified, funds will be disbursed per the scholarship disbursement process. The student
will receive $375 each semester for a total of $750 for the academic year.
4. In the event a selected recipient fails to enroll in a minimum of 9 units for the Fall and/or Spring semester(s)
the award will be forfeited. The alternate recipient will then be awarded the remaining amount to be
disbursed "IF" the alternate meets the terms outlined above.

Part 2 ― Application Statement:
On a separate sheet of paper, in an essay format, answer the following questions on one page.
1. Why do you need scholarship assistance?
2. Describe your educational objectives and career goals/plans.
3. Describe your involvement in school or community activities/commitments include any honors or awards you have received
Include any volunteer work and the total number of hours per week you volunteer.
4. Describe any challenges you have faced or overcame.
5. If employed, state your employer, type of work you do, and the number of hours you work per week.
Part 3 ― Reference:
1.
Each applicant must submit one letter of recommendation with his or her scholarship application package the letter must
come from a faculty member.
2. The selected Final Nominees must provide a second letter of recommendation with his or her scholarship application
package. This letter must come from either the Principal or a Counselor.
AUTHORIZATION
I authorize the release of my scholarship application, statement, and references to any individual involved in the selection of
scholarship recipients for the Cuyamaca College Foundation Scholarship. In the event that I receive this award, I authorize the
Foundation for Grossmont & Cuyamaca Colleges to release/publicize my name, the name of the scholarship and the amount of the
award. In the event that I do not meet the terms of the scholarship, I understand that I forfeit this award. By signing this application, I
certify that all the material submitted in this application package is from my own work and is true to the best of my knowledge. In the
event that plagiarism is found to be a part of my application package, I will forfeit this award and repay the entire amount of the award
disbursed.
