Article XV
ASGCC Assistant and their Attached Duties
All acting ASGCC Board members may assign an assistant to help with their duties.
A. All assistant designations must be submitted to both the acting ASGCC President and the
ASGCC Secretary.
B. Any Board member may dismiss an assistant by issuing either a verbal or written notice of
dismissal to the ASGCC President who then shall inform the assistant.
C. The ASGCC Assistants duties and privileges are as follows:
a. Assistants shall assume and assist with all duties of the particular ASGCC Board
member they are assisting.
b. Assistants shall not hold any of the official rights and powers invested in ASGCC
Officer whose duties they are assisting with.
Item B
Article XVI
ASGCC Titles and their Attached Duties
Section 1 - The ASGCC Titles Description
A. ASGCC Titles shall be assigned to students of Cuyamaca College and ASGCC
Board Members.
B. Those holding a Title shall assume positions and all corresponding responsibilities
but no extra rights or power that may be associated with said position.
C. ASGCC Titles shall be designated by a majority vote of the acting ASGCC Board in
the first meeting of the current semester and/or as vacancies arise.
D. ASGCC Titles may be relinquished by the bearer of said Title at any point by
issuing an official written or verbal notice of resignation to either the ASGCC
Board, ASGCC Advisor or ASGCC President.
a. ASGCC Titles may be borrowed temporarily with permission of the current
holder of said Title;
i.
The lending duration shall be determined by the current official
bearer and may be recalled at any point;
ii. To enact the lending process merely requires the current official
bearer to give verbal or written notice of permission to an ASGCC
Board Member in order for them to hold the title.
1. The duties and rights of said title shall be transferred upon the
completion of the lending process;
E. Any ASGCC Titles may be held by multiple ASGCC board members as deemed
necessary by the acting ASGCC President or acting ASGCC advisor;
Section 2 - The ASGCC Titles and their assigned Duties
1. ASGCC Region X Delegate
a. The Duties of this title’s bearer shall be as follows:
i.
Participate in quorum in all Region X meetings;
ii. Participate in all Region X meetings as deemed necessary by the
ASGCC board and or the Region X board;
iii. Submit a Campus report prior to the set Region X Campus Report
deadline;
iv.
Present a Campus report and the ASGCC related topics as requested
by the ASGCC President and or as deemed necessary by the bearer of
this position
2. Hermes Protocol Guardian
a. The Duties of this title bearer shall be as follows:
i.
Shall create and distribute Hermes Protocol message disbursements
as needed and at their discretion;
ii. Shall maintain a record of all Hermes Protocol message
disbursements in physical and electronic version;
iii. Shall head the recruitment of faculty and staff at Cuyamaca College
to become part of the mailing list
3. Grossmont Associated Student Liaison
a. The bearer of this title must hold a position in both boards;
b. The duties of this title’s bearer shall be as follows:
i.
Shall keep the ASGCC board informed on any and all actions from
the Associated Students of Grossmont College [ASGC]
ii. The bearer of this title may not vote on items that affect the ASGC or
the ASGCC’s relations with the ASGC
iii. Shall assume any duties deemed necessary by the acting ASGCC
President in effort to promote and maintain good relations with the
ASGC

Section 11 - ASGCC Board Development & Trainings Committee
A. The ASGCC Board Development & Trainings Committee’s chair shall be the acting
ASGCC President
B. Voting membership shall consist of the Executive Vice-President, the Vice President
of Equity and Inclusion, the Magistrate and the acting ASGCC Advisor
C. The duties of the ASGCC Board Development & Trainings Committee shall be as
follows:
a. To develop programs and workshops for the ASGCC Board in order to
strengthen a particular facet of student leadership as per request of the
ASGCC President, and or by vote of the ASGCC Board
b. To create programs and workshops for the ASGCC board in order to
provide trainings with regard to safe office practices and school safety
protocols
c. To create programs and workshops for the ASGCC board in order to
increase cultural competency
d. To provide information on workshops and trainings when unable to provide
enough coverage on a certain topic or field
e. To report ASGCC Board member’s failure to attend or adequately
participate to the Policies and Procedures committee

Article XIII
Temporary Changes Procedures
Section 1- The Mirror Clause
A. The Mirror Clause shall only pertain to the Inter Club Council Representative, the Evening
Vice President, the Activities Assistant and the Public Relations Assistant;
B. The Mirror Clause enables this body, the ASGCC Bylaws, to recognize informally these
positions by other names;
C. The recognized positions names shall be as follows;
a. The Activities Assistant shall also be recognized as the Director of Activities in this
body only
b. The Public Relations Assistant shall also be recognized as the Director of Public
Relations in this body only
c. The Inter Club Council Representative shall also be recognized as the Club
Coordinator in this body only
d. The Evening Vice-President shall also be recognized as the Vice-President of
Equity and Inclusion
D. All items and stipulations within the ASGCC Bylaws that refer to any of these
aforementioned positions by their other recognized names shall apply to them equally
E. This Clause will dissolve at the enactment of a constitution update in which their second
names became their primary and sole name
Item D
Vice-President of Equity and Inclusion
A. Assume the duties of the President in the absence of both the President and the
Executive Vice-President;
B. Communicate the needs of the students of Cuyamaca College;
C. Assume additional duties as assigned by the President;
D. Develop programs and services to meet the needs of students as deemed necessary;
E. Attend the Cuyamaca College Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee;
F. Provide a report on barriers for students they’re informed on and provide options
to removing these barriers to students and/or request aid from the board to remove
said barriers;
G. Maintain at least 5 office hours per week.
Item E
Section 1 – General Duties
In addition to the specific responsibilities of the individual officers (refer to Bylaws Article I,
Section 2), all members of the Associated Student Government of Cuyamaca College, hereafter
referred to as the ASGCC, shall maintain and uphold the ASGCC Constitution, Bylaws, and the
ASGCC’s Policies and Procedures. Also, all Executive Officers of the ASGCC shall participate
in the following duties:
A. Attend all scheduled meetings as required by their ASGCC President, and attend all
committee meetings as appointed to and required by their ASGCC President.
B. To earn a monthly stipend, all ASGCC Executive Officers must accumulate five (5)
points per month. Four (4) points can be accumulated by attending all weekly scheduled
ASGCC meetings, and additional points can be met by attending all appointed committee
meetings and by participating in ASGCC activities such as leadership workshops,
retreats, and planned student government trips.
C. Represent the interests of all students currently enrolled at Cuyamaca College.
D. Maintain the privilege to vote on all ASGCC matters, excluding the President. The
President shall only vote in the case of a tie or when a supermajority is required;
E. Review and approve the ASGCC’s annual budget.
F. All ASGCC board members may be assigned additional duties by the acting
ASGCC President as deemed necessary;
G. A minimum amount of trainings and workshops shall be assigned by the acting
ASGCC President at the commencement of each new semester;
1. The amount set by the acting ASGCC President must be approved by the
acting ASGCC advisor;
2. Failure to comply with the set amount of duties by semester’s end shall
be subject of disciplinary action as deemed necessary by the ASGCC Board;
H. Participate in leadership development and team building programs and activities
I. Schedule and maintain weekly office hours to be held in the ASGCC Office.
