Homework 9
Chap 15: 46-58 (all the evens), 66-78 (all the evens), 98 and 110.
Chap 13: 84, 86, 88, 90.
A. For each of the following combinations of solutions, predict which pairs will result in a precipitation reaction, when mixed
together. If a precipitation reaction occurs, write and circle the name of the precipitate.
1) Reaction DOES occur  precipitate is BaSO4
2) Reaction does occur  precipitate is Ca3(PO4)2
3) No reaction
4) No reaction
B. You should have found that TWO of the combinations in question A resulted in a precipitation reaction. For each one of these,
write a complete and balanced molecular, total ionic and net ionic equation to represent the reaction. (That’s a total of three reactions
to write – two for each precipitation reaction.)
