The State Board of Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) changed
the allocation model that is used to calculate how $451M is distributed
to the colleges. This new model incents Adult Basic Education and high
demand programs, student achievement and prevents international students from having a significant impact on the state funds allocated to
the colleges. The Seattle District is projected to have an allocation
$3.9M lower when compared to the existing model. The impact of the
change will be spread out over four years.
