Funded almost continuously by NICHD since its inception in 1971 60 Faculty Associates from 13 departments in 4 divisions of the University NICHD Population Centers The Demographic and Behavioral Sciences Branch of NICHD has funded a highly regarded Population Research Centers program since 1971. There are now 18 NICHD Population Centers funded by R24 infrastructure grants, of which the HPC is one of the oldest and most established. This program provides a critical core of professionals to address emerging questions in NICHD priority areas: Marriage and family change Fertility and family planning Teen pregnancy Mortality HIV risk and prevention Children and child health.
