For workplace assessments: When an individual has gained sufficient work experience in the job role When an individual feels ready for assessment having had a chance to check their skills against the assessment criteria When the employer decides the individual is ready to be assessed After an individual has completed a relevant training course that prepares them for assessment April 2014, Version 1 10 Validate: assessment strategy The assessment is undertaken on-the-job , ie, no “downtime” required It may be possible to assess more than one candidate in a session Candidates may repeat assessment any number of times until competent April 2014, Version 1 11 Validate: assessment principles Competence is based on mastery of skills All assessment points must be successfully met Assessment by observation or Q&A Supplementary questions may be added 1. April 2014, Version 2 19 What is it? “Quality assurance procedures ensure that all products and services are delivered to a high standard that meets the needs of customers and stakeholders.” April 2014, Version 2 20 The Value of Quality Assurance In the recent WAMITAB Customer and Stakeholder Satisfaction survey, respondents were asked how important WAMITAB’s quality control was to their business: 87% of respondents stated that it was very important. A further 13% of respondents stated it was quite important. April 2014, Version 2 21 Credit, Levelling and Mapping Validate is not part of the NQF, QCF or SCQF framework It is regulated and quality assured by WAMITAB Each module has the potential to be levelled and early evidence suggests that the modules will fall into: Entry Level 3 Level 1 Level 2 April 2014, Version 2 22 Validate Assessor Requirements To assess on the programme you will need to: be industry competent have TAQA/CAVA qualifications OR be industry competent have passed the WAMITAB Assessor Development programme April 2014, Version 2 23 Validate Assessor Validate Assessors must be able to demonstrate all the competences they will be assessing.
