What is the Passenger Transport Cleaning Industry?
The passenger transport sector delivers crucial services around the UK. Passenger transport
covers a range of industries and a wide assortment of occupations.
People employed to keep trains, buses, coaches and planes clean have to do so in line with
timetables and transport schedules. They need to work efficiently and effectively and in
some cases provide cleaning services to very tight turnaround times. Just think how quickly
budget airlines have to disembark passengers, clean, restock and embark passengers.
They may be involved in on-train cleaning so will need to have good customer service and
communication skills.

WAMITAB Passenger Transport Cleaning Employability
Programme
The Passenger Transport Cleaning Employability Programme is comprised of 9 components,
delivered in a ‘taught and tested’ approach. The knowledge element of these will be delivered
initially in a ‘taught and tested’ approach. Once this is complete, candidates will begin their
work placement and continue to be assessed to achieve the units. Once the units have all been
achieved, you will receive a WAMITAB Routes to Industry Certificate in Passenger Transport
Cleaning Employability, and individual QCF Unit Certificates. This is not a full QCF, regulated
qualification.

The Result
Learners who complete the Passenger Transport Cleaning Employability Programme will have
gained vital skills, knowledge and competence to begin work in the Cleaning Industry,
specifically for passenger transport. They will be certificated by WAMITAB as a government
recognised Awarding Organisation and well respected industry brand.

Progression Opportunities
Learners will also have opportunities to progress into full Level 2 qualifications and
apprenticeship frameworks, using the QCF units and Recognition of Prior Learning against a
number of WAMITAB qualifications at Levels 2-4.
