Zoom is a cloud based video conferencing tool that is designed for easy use face to face conferencing tool that can be used by desktop computers, laptops, and by phone. You can invite up to 50 participants into a meeting conversation in which participants have real time access to file sharing and document displaying capabilities. This program is super easy to use, all you need to do is click “host a meeting” and share the meeting code with your participants. In the free version you get up to 40 minutes for free and the functionality of all aspects of ZOOM. Participants can type in questions to spark discussion, raise their hand during the meeting, or speak with video to join the conversation in the meeting. The best part is students or participants of the meeting can join through their phone! So how can you use ZOOM in your class? 1. This program is perfect for lecture with file sharing capabilities. 2. Have your students use the program to work together no matter the distance between them. They can talk, share files, share ideas, and create materials for class. 3. You can use this program to assist your students, especially online students. Quick one on one meetings can be held to share information, have discussion, and share materials/files pertaining to class. 4. Out of the office, no problem! You can meet with students via ZOOM! 5.
