Designed by JLG Architects, the 27,000 sq. ft. addition added over 20 classrooms, offices and labs, including a nursing suite with state of the art equipment. New LED Campus Lighting You may have noticed that campus is looking a little brighter these days. That’s because Facilities Services installed new LED lamps and posts across campus that now spread much more light than the previous globes. These new posts, from Graybar Electric, feature a classic design that blends in with the historic architecture on campus, while providing cutting edge energy savings with ultra-efficient LED bulbs McFarland 138 CSSE Remodel With the recently created Computer Systems and Software Engineering program, new offices were added to McFarland 138. In place of the former business lounge are 5 new offices, 2 conference rooms and a reception area with leather chairs, sofas and a flat screen television. VCSU managed the project with seven other contractors to complete the renovation and remodel. Summer 2013 VCSU Facilities Services: Summer Projects New Campus Signage An update to the signage on campus was also completed this summer. Replacing the old iron signs are new modern metal signs from Indigo Signworks. Sturdy, with larger bold letting, the new signage is much easier to read. These new signs now hold updated information and give an upscale, modern look over the originals. McFarland Clock Tower repairs The landmark Clock Tower received a welcome repair as back lighting was restored to the clock face. Our iconic tower now shines throughout the late days and evenings, just as it did upon its completion in the late 1800’s.. The VCSU Power House was responsible for installing the new lights.
