North Carolina A&T AGGIES
(4-3, 1-0 MEAC)
Lynchburg, Va. - Vines Center - 2 p.m.
Today’s Game
Liberty (7-3) will welcome perennial MEAC title contender North Carolina A&T (4-3) to the
Vines Center for a Saturday matinee. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.
The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines
1) Liberty will attempt to avenge an 81-74 loss it suffered at North Carolina A&T last season, on Nov. 18, 2011. The Lady Flames will also aim for their first win against a MEAC
opponent since Feb. 4, 2010 (North Carolina Central). Liberty has lost back-to-back contests to MEAC foes since then.
2) The Lady Flames will try to extend a pair of winning streaks. Liberty has won five consecutive games overall and has been victorious in each of its last 13 games at the Vines
Center, dating back to last season.
3) Saturday’s game will match up a team keyed by post play (Liberty) and a squad led
by perimeter players (North Carolina A&T). The Lady Flames rank No. 6 nationally in rebound margin, while the Aggies are No. 12 in the nation for three-point field goal percentage. During last season’s contest, Liberty outrebounded North Carolina A&T by a wide
49-25 margin, but the Aggies countered by hitting nine three-pointers to Liberty’s one.
4) Saturday’s game could be a low-scoring defensive battle. Liberty is limiting opponents
to 49.8 ppg during its five-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Aggies are yielding just
53.7 ppg for the season.
5) Tolu Omotola has played well at the Vines Center this season, averaging 16.6 ppg and
shooting 68.8 percent (33-for-48) from the field.

Notes and Anecdotes
• Although he is facing Liberty for the first time as a head coach, Tarrell Robinson’s teams
have matched up against the Lady Flames four times during his tenure as an assistant
at North Carolina A&T (2006-09) and VCU (2010-12). Robinson has gone 1-3 against
Liberty, with the one win coming last year while he was an associate head coach at VCU.
• Saturday’s game will be North Carolina A&T’s first contest since a 67-27 win over North
Carolina Central on Dec. 1. Liberty has played three games since the Aggies’ most recent
contest, going 3-0 during that time.
• Last season, on Nov. 18, 2011 at the Corbett Sports Center, North Carolina A&T posted
its first win over Liberty since Feb. 15, 1996. The Aggies’ 81-74 victory was keyed by nine
made three-pointers. Amber Calvin nailed six of those triples, scoring a game-high 24
points for the Aggies. Avery Warley shot 8-of-8 from the field as part of an 18-point evening for Liberty.
• The last time North Carolina A&T visited the Vines Center (Jan. 5, 2010), Devon Brown
led the Lady Flames to a 57-51 triumph with 17 points and 13 rebounds. JaQuayla Berry
was North Carolina A&T’s scoring leader, finishing with 14 points.
• North Carolina A&T ranks No. 12 nationally for three-point field goal percentage, making
38.7 percent of its three-point attempts this season. Amber Calvin leads the way, shooting
56.5 percent (13-of-23) from beyond the arc.

After Liberty failed to win a single Big South Player of the Week award in 2011-12, the
Lady Flames have now won the honor four consecutive weeks. Tolu Omotola was recognized on Nov. 19 and Dec. 3, while fellow redshirt senior Devon Brown has been honored
on Nov. 26 and Dec. 10. Liberty had not won the award four straight times since Jan. 5
through 26, 2004, when Katie Feenstra earned four Big South Player of the Week nods
in succession.

A Look Back at Liberty’s Win Over Bluefield State
• Liberty recorded its fifth consecutive victory overall and its 13th straight home win with
a wire-to-wire 82-46 triumph over Bluefield State, Thursday evening at the Vines Center.
• It was the Lady Flames’ first game against the Lady Blues since Nov. 29, 1984 and their
first victory over Bluefield State since Nov. 24, 1981.
• Liberty’s post players (Katelyn Adams, Jasmine Gardner, Tolu Omotola and Ashley Rininger) combined for 48 points, 39 rebounds and seven blocked shots.
• The Lady Flames dominated the Lady Blues in rebounds (57-35), points in the paint (4614) and second-chance points (21-9).
• One game after shooting 11-of-19 from three-point range against UNCW, Liberty missed
all 11 of its three-point attempts on Thursday.
• The Lady Flames set season highs for free throws made (24) and attempted (36), as well
as blocked shots (8) and steals (15).
• Bluefield State entered the game averaging 81.8 ppg but was held to a season-low 46
points on 21.9 percent (14-of-64) field goal shooting. Liberty has now kept each of its last
three opponents below 30 percent from the field.
• Tolu Omotola led all players with 17 points and is now averaging 16.6 ppg at home this
season.
• By halftime, Katelyn Adams had recorded her first career double-double. The redshirt
freshman finished with career-high figures for points (13) and rebounds (12).
• Ashley Rininger also established a career high for rebounds with 12.
• Ellee Rollins more than tripled her previous career high (3 points) with 10 points, all of
which came during the game’s final seven minutes.
Liberty-MEAC Challenge?
Just after the Lady Flames face North Carolina A&T of the MEAC Saturday afternoon, the
Liberty men’s basketball team will also match up against a MEAC foe. The Flames are
slated to tip off at Howard at 4 p.m.
Off to a Fast Start
The Lady Flames are 7-3 through 10 games, marking the team’s best 10-game start to a
season since the 2009-10 squad also won seven of its first 10 outings.
Inside/Outside
During its last two games, Liberty has shown that it can a defeat an opponent via both
stellar outside shooting and strong play around the basket.
• On Dec. 8 against UNCW, the Lady Flames equaled the most three-pointers they have
ever hit at the Vines Center, connecting on 11 of their 19 tries for 57.9 percent.
• On Thursday versus Bluefield State, Liberty shot 0-of-11 from three-point range, but still
won by scoring 70 of its 82 points either inside the paint or at the free throw line.
Speed Limit 65
Liberty has scored 65 or more points in six of its seven victories this season, continuing
a recent trend.
• The Lady Flames have won 13 straight games when reaching the 65-point mark, dating
back to last season. Liberty is also 22-1 the last 23 times it has tallied 65 or more points.

• She fashioned one of the best performances of her career, Nov. 17 versus Sacred Heart.
Gardner scored 14 of her team-high 18 points after halftime, falling just one point shy of
her career high. It was her first double-double since Nov. 30, 2010 against Glenville State
(10 points, 13 rebounds).
• Her start at Duquesne (Nov. 9) was just the second of her career and the first since Dec.
18, 2010 at North Carolina Central. She fared well in her unfamiliar role, sharing gamehigh honors with eight rebounds, and has started every game so far this season.
• The first Liberty player to wear No. 24 since the 1999-2000 season, Elena Kisseleva’s
senior year. Kisseleva is the Lady Flames’ all-time leading scorer with 2,154 points and is
