Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines 1) Liberty will attempt to avenge an 81-74 loss it suffered at North Carolina A&T last season, on Nov. 18, 2011. The Lady Flames will also aim for their first win against a MEAC opponent since Feb. 4, 2010 (North Carolina Central). Liberty has lost back-to-back contests to MEAC foes since then. 2) The Lady Flames will try to extend a pair of winning streaks. Liberty has won five consecutive games overall and has been victorious in each of its last 13 games at the Vines Center, dating back to last season. 3) Saturday’s game will match up a team keyed by post play (Liberty) and a squad led by perimeter players (North Carolina A&T). The Lady Flames rank No. 6 nationally in rebound margin, while the Aggies are No. 12 in the nation for three-point field goal percentage. During last season’s contest, Liberty outrebounded North Carolina A&T by a wide 49-25 margin, but the Aggies countered by hitting nine three-pointers to Liberty’s one. 4) Saturday’s game could be a low-scoring defensive battle. Liberty is limiting opponents to 49.8 ppg during its five-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Aggies are yielding just 53.7 ppg for the season. 5) Tolu Omotola has played well at the Vines Center this season, averaging 16.6 ppg and shooting 68.8 percent (33-for-48) from the field.
