Spend ONE year as a DCB student and THREE years as a VCSU student to earn a FOUR-year degree. Want to know the best part? Students spend ALL four years on ONE campus! Now that’s great math! What is the Bridges Program? DCB or VCSU Students? The Bridges Program is a unique collaborative program offered by Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) and Valley City State University (VCSU). Bridges Program students are considered DCB students and will take DCB classes that are offered at the VCSU campus. This program is available to students who are not eligible for admission at VCSU but want to attend college, pursue a four-year degree, and remain in the Valley City area. These applicants can apply to the Bridges program where they would become DCB students located on the VCSU campus. After successfully completing 24 transferable credits with a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher, students may then apply for admission to VCSU as transfer students. Students in the Bridges Program will abide by the academic and financial aid policies and procedures of DCB. Course specific issues will follow policies of the campus offering the course. All other policies and procedures that are outlined in the VCSU student handbook will be followed. After the completion of 24 credits, the students will then transfer to VCSU and complete a four-year degree. Benefits Bridges Program students can fully participate in VCSU’s student life, housing, dining services, organizations, facility usage and activities (excluding varsity athletics).
