Nursing
 Complete a DCB application for admission by
visiting the following link:

Submit a $35 application fee to Dakota College
at Bottineau, 105 Simrall Blvd., Bottineau, ND
58318.
 Submit the following records: immunization
records(MMR), test scores, and the final official
high school transcript.
 Register for at least one course per semester
from DCB and no more than five credits per
semester from VCSU.

Paraeducation
• Placement in Math and English courses
will be determined by ACT, COMPASS, or
Accuplacer test scores.
• Courses below the 100 level do not qualify
as transferable courses but may be a
requirement for degree completion.
• General education courses taken through
either campus will count toward a degree

What does this partnership offer?
Students can attend the classes they need to earn an Associate degree in Applied Science (A.A.S.) on the way to an excellent career. Or, upon earning an Associate degree in Arts
or Associate in Science (A.A./A.A.S.), students can continue their education and complete their Bachelor’s degree at VCSU.
Degree options
• Medical Assistant (A.A.S.): Medical
Assistants are multi-skilled professionals
who work in health care settings and perform
administrative and clinical procedures.

• Practical Nurse (PNs): This program prepares
students to take the state board exams to
become a licensed practical nurse (LPN).

• Associate Degree Nurses (ADN): This program
prepares students to take the state board
exams to become Registered Nurses (RNs).

• Caregiver Services (A.A.S.): The Caregiver
Program has two options. The CHILD option
focuses on services for children and the ADULT
option focuses on services for the elderly and
disabled. Advisor: Tanya Mooney,

• Paraeducation (A.A.S.): Paraeducators
are employed as teacher assitants in early
childhood, special education, elementary, and
secondary schools. Advisor: Jan Nahimurk,

• Associate in Science/Associate in Arts (A.S./
A.A.): An Associate degree is an undergraduate
award typically conferred by a two-year school.
However, in an accommodating and innovative
arrangement, a four-year school like VCSU and
a two year school like DCB will cooperate to
offer the Associate degree where availability
previously did not exist. Such is the case with
this unique VCSU/DCB collaboration. The

degrees prepare students to transfer to an

Earn your degree from Dakota College at Bottineau!
DCB is known for providing a quality learning experience that get students into the workplace quickly.
Any student who has earned a high school diploma
or successfully completed the GED exam may
enroll.
Tuition and Fees
Students will receive one bill for tuition and fees
for all their DCB and VCSU courses. Charges for
housing will be billed separately from VCSU.
The opportunities created by this partnership are
an ideal solution for working adults in the Valley City
area who would like to earn a degree around their
busy schedule. Associate degrees can be completed
in two years and provide the skills necessary for specific career areas, so they are a great fit for students
looking to earn a credential that lands them in a
challenging and rewarding career.
Tuition for DCB classes will be based on residency
status. Fees for DCB classes will be assessed at the
VCSU per credit rate.
Take classes at VCSU
Financial Aid
All classes are held on the campus of Valley City
State University, providing convenient access for
area residents. Students can participate in the great
campus life at VCSU, and even live in the residence
halls, while they get a first class education.
Fees for VCSU include a technology fee. Tuition
and fees for VCSU classes will be assessed at the
appropriate credit hour rate based on residency
status plus any applicable course specific fees.

Transition to VCSU
Students who earn transferable credits through
DCB can proceed with the transfer admission
process at VCSU.
