St. Bonaventure High School – Dress Code 2014-2015
This single sheet lists basic information about dress code – for specific information, see the Parent/Student Handbook,
available at the start of the school year. All students must follow the dress code guidelines from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm;
notes from parents excusing students from dress code will be approved on a case-by-case basis.
Female Dress Code
*** TOP – Polo Shirt Only ***
Dennis uniform polo or school-approved polo with St. Bonaventure logo must be worn at all times, even under
outerwear. Polo shirts may not be tied at the back. SOLID COLOR undershirts may be worn under polo shirt.
***BOTTOM – Solid color pants, “walking” shorts ***


Pants – Solid, neutral color slacks/cords with button or snap closure and zipper. No jeans, skin-tight pants,
stretch material pants, pajama pants, sweat/warm-ups, unhemmed pants, Capris, or stretch/dance/yoga pants.
Shorts – Solid, neutral color, walking short length with button or snap closure and zipper. Cuffed hem of shorts
must be between the mid- thigh and knee. No jean shorts, athletic shorts, Spandex shorts, or skin-tight shorts.
Footwear – Socks and shoes must be worn. Shoes that may not be worn include sandals, slippers, and backless shoes.
Male Dress Code

pajama pants, and unhemmed pants. Pants must fit and be worn properly.
Shorts – Solid, neutral color, walking short length with button or snap closure and zipper. No jean shorts,
athletic shorts, or board shorts.
Footwear – Socks and shoes must be worn. Shoes that may not be worn include sandals, slippers, and backless shoes.
Facial Hair – not permitted; males must be clean shaven.
Accessories for all students




Outerwear - only St. Bonaventure jackets, sweatshirts, or sweaters. Outerwear cannot be worn under polo
shirts. Sweatshirt hoods are not to be worn.
No hats, ball caps, or other head coverings are allowed; no sunglasses are allowed.
Females – No piercings or plugs except for earrings; no visible tattoos.
Males – No piercings or plugs; no visible tattoos.
Appropriate Casual Dress
On certain days determined by the Administration, casual dress may be worn. Guidelines for casual dress include:




Clothes must be untorn, modest, and have no holes; jeans and t-shirts are allowed.
No tank tops, sleeveless tops, off-the shoulder tops, sundresses.
Students must follow regular dress code in regards to head coverings, piercings, male shaving, and footwear.
No pajama/stretch/dance/yoga pants/sweat/warm-up pants, athletic shorts, board shorts, short shorts.
