SBHS is an exciting place as many seniors are being accepted to great colleges! A big THANK YOU to all families who attended our Parent/Teacher Conferences and our Pre.AP/AP parent meeting in April! Student applications are coming in, and I think there are some great selections and candidates for our higher level courses. Check out our school website, Pre.AP/AP section if you missed our meeting and are interested in hearing testimonials from our alumni regarding the value of taking AP classes at SBHS. Students interested in joining our Leadership Academy should download a copy of the application from our school website. There are spaces available in the level one, Leadership Fundamentals. Other new courses for the call include Computer Science and Computer Programing. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Van Hoven are currently working on the course content which will include coding, web design and programing. Also new for the fall school year, is Yearbook-Digital Design. This course will be available during the school day, and is a UC approved elective. Students interested should speak with Mrs. Kistler for more details. AP testing is May 1-10. Please turn in testing fees to the Administration Office. Summer school information is available in the office. I thought I’d share some great information from ACT in college planning. Please take a moment to read through this information as it pertains to your student: ACT provides this monthly newsletter to inform students and their parents about college and career planning. ACT is a not-for-profit organization that serves millions of people in schools, colleges, professional associations, businesses and government agencies with programs and services that help people achieve their education and career goals.
