CELERA BARNES SIGNS NLI TO RUN TRACK AT THE
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA-LOS ANGELES
Tri Valley League Female Track Athlete of the Year Celera
Barnes has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her
education and her Track career at the University of California
Los Angeles. Celera is the first Seraph Athlete to sign a NLI
to attend UCLA on an athletic scholarship. Celera was the TVL
champion in the 100 and 200 meters as well as being a member
of the league champion 4 x 100 relay team. She is a
nationally ranked runner and has competed in numerous national
level Track meets in her high school career. Celera was a 3
year letter winner in Basketball before sitting out her senior
year to concentrate on the Track season. She has registered
one of the 10th fastest times in the United States this year
in the 100 and came in 2nd at the prestigious New Balance
National Indoor meet this year in New York. A standout in the
classroom, Celera plans to pursue a Medical degree at UCLA.
