Program Requirements

To be considered for Lunker Release Certification, trout must be a minimum of 18 inches in total length.
Trout must be released unharmed, immediately after length determination is made at water’s edge.
Release and length determination must be verified by one witness.

Use proper release techniques - do not excessively handle trout before release - do not hold trout out of the
water for long periods of time and whenever possible measure the trout without removing it from the water.

Trout must be caught by legal fishing methods.
To be eligible, fish must be caught and released between March 1 and October 31.
