We are pleased to welcome Kashmira Kale, who joins the UNAIDS Country Office for Nepal and Bhutan for her internship with us, through October 11, 2015. Kashmira is a first-year Masters of Public Health and Masters of Business Administration candidate at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Prior to starting this combined programme, Kashmira worked as a healthcare consultant, for three years, doing process improvement in the clinical setting in hospitals around the U.S. She is pursuing her MPH and MBA degrees to better understand how to apply business methodologies in the field of public health. She currently works for the Center of Communication Programs at Johns Hopkins, and researches the application of business models of coordination to public health in emergency settings. Her primary interests at UNAIDS include communities’ engagement in public health; the HIV prevention-HIV treatment continuum; harm reduction, and key population ‘in-reach.’ In her free time, she enjoys reading, dancing, picnicking, and rock-climbing! Kashmira is working from the UNAIDS Country Office in UN House, Pulchowk, Kathmandu, and can be reached at [email protected]
