Program Offerings
ProWorld programs include the following:
• Airport pick-up, Airport Drop-off (or Drop-off Stipend)
• Cultural Classes
• Excursions: 2 weekend Excursions
• Orientation: Comprehensive overview upon arrival
• Homestays/Accommodations
• Meals: 3 meals/day
• Project: 30-40 hours per week (this can and does vary).
• Transportation or Transportation Stipend to and from project
• Staff support throughout program
• 24-hour Emergency Staff support
• Use of ProWorld lounge area – Wireless Internet access
• Clean drinking water
Public Health Programs
• Belize, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Ghana, South Africa,
Nepal, and Thailand
• Shadow doctors in local hospitals
• Organize health clinics in rural communities
• Educate children in local schools…
• Gain hands-on experience, observe health practices
in another country, educate youth about nutrition,
hygiene, common health risks, etc.
Day in the Life
7am: Breakfast
8-9am: Get to work!
12pm: Lunch
5pm: Workday ends (start and end times vary depending
on the type of project the participant is working at)
• 6pm: Dinner with homestay family
• ProWorld weekly activities (Participant check-ins, Cultural
classes…)
• On other weekends participants often travel independently,
hang around town, or go on excursions

Scholarship & Fundraising Opportunities
Media Intern Scholarship
•
ProWorld will award a $500 Media Intern Scholarship to one incoming ProWorld volunteer, intern, or study
abroad participant per term (Fall, Spring, or Summer session). Scholarship recipients would be responsible for
blogs, photographs, and videos about their ProWorld program and projects.
•
This scholarship is only available to those who have prior experience (or are majoring) in Photography, Video
production, or Journalism.
General and Heritage ProWorld Scholarships ($100 to $500)
•
General Scholarship: All Participants are eligible to apply
•
Heritage Scholarship: ProWorld encourages participants to visit or revisit their ancestral home. The Heritage
Scholarship is offered to ProWorld participants whose family is originally from their chosen program location.
