Nursery Program Student Internship
As an intern at OSU - NWREC
you will have the opportunity to:
• Gain understanding of nursery production and the principles of research
by working with both researchers and members of the industry
• Obtain experience in nursery and Christmas tree research including plot
maintenance and data collection
• Have the opportunity to participate in your own research project in area
of interest
The nursery program is supported by extension faculty specializing in the
following areas: small farms, plant pathology, and Christmas trees.
Projects students may assist NWREC staff with include:
• Christmas tree grafting and progeny evaluations
• Ornamental crop safety and efficacy trials
• Nursery disease evaluations and laboratory sample processing
• Technology for shade tree and Christmas tree inventory processes
