St. Francis’ Canossian College, Past Student Association 2013 Spring Newsletter Bring Back Our Angels -­‐ Walkathon On 15 December 2012, our school was having a “Bring Back Our Angels” fund-­‐raising walkathon, which was organized by the school Fund Raising Committee and the Parent Teacher Association. This walkathon aimed at raising funds for modernizing the school campus and the teaching & learning facilities, as many of the essential facilities are regarded as “non-­‐standard provisions” according to the government. We gathered at the SFCC Gymnasium at 9:00 in the morning, meeting lots of old friends and teachers. The Gymnasium was fully packed and we could not wait to start the walkathon! It was just so excited. Before we start the walkathon, there was an opening ceremony. The walkathon started at 9:30a.m., leaded by our principal -­‐ Sr. Susanna Yu, the chairperson of the fundraising team -­‐ Sr. Marie Remedios and some Honorable Guests, such as Ms. Audrey Eu. We started from the school campus, walking along Kennedy Road to Bowen Road. It was a 3-­‐kilometer walk and it ended at the junction of Bowen Road and Stubbs Road. It took us an hour to finish the walkathon. It was such a great & meaningful event! The next coming up fundraising event for the school is in July, there will be a “Bring Back Our Angels” Variety Show in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). We will invite St. Francis’ Canossian School and Ms. Colleen Lee (talented young pianist) to perform in the show.
