SFCC Redevelopment Project
After five full years of negotiation, the school’s application for redevelopment of its much dilapidated
premises on Kennedy Road finally received government approval in November 2010.
Construction
works began soon afterwards and Phase 1 is now in full swing.
The redevelopment project involves the demolition of the substandard school premises, renovation of
the assembly hall block and the construction of new school buildings.
These works are necessary to
comply with present day standards for a 24-classroom secondary school, as stipulated by the
government.
Regrettably, as with similar redevelopment projects, many of the essential facilities are regarded as
“non-standard provisions” as far as government funding is concerned.
The school therefore needs to
acquire its own funds for the following features and facilities, if Franciscans wish to have them provided
in the new St. Francis’ Canossian College:
Our Lady’s Grotto (where girls gather to pray)
The Four Guardian Angels of St. Francis’ (to be re-built in mosaic)
Historical Archive / History Corner
Amphitheatre (to be upgraded)
Internet Network / Wi-fi
Air-Conditioning in the Hall and multi-purpose areas
Light & Sound System in the Hall
A.V. System (loop system, etc.)
CCTV System
P.A. System (to be upgraded)
Tiles of external wall (to be upgraded)
In order to finance the abovementioned provisions, a Fund Raising Committee chaired by Sr. Marie
Remedios has been set up to raise the necessary funds.
to achieve its $20M target.
We are thus appealing for donations from you.

St. Francis’ Canossian College Speech Day 2012
Do you hear our joyful voices
Ringing sweetly through the skies?
Day by day our heart rejoices
As our thanks to heaven rise,
For our school instructs and leads us
On the way to virtue and love.
Live St. Francis’! Live for ever
In our mind and in our heart!
Bless our teachers and companions
Be the bond when we depart!
Here we pray, we work together,
For the love of God and men;
Here we study, here we gather,
Here we play and here we gain
And when troubles seem to double
To our school for peace we turn.
Live St. Franics’……
All the sweet memories came back when we stood and sang the school song again at the college hall during
the 2012 Graduation Ceremony which was held on June 22, 2012. It was our honour to have Mrs. Nancy
Chan Woo Mei-hou, School Alumna and Principal of King’s College to address the College, distributed
certificates and presentation of prizes. Mrs. Chan gave recognition to our students and encouraged them in
her address. Students did an outstanding job in the inter-school activities and won numerous awards in 63rd
Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, 64th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, Award for Volunteer Service
2011 (Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service), Inter-School Swimming/Athletics
Championships 2011-2012, Inter-School Basketball Championships 2011-2012, 2011 Hong Kong
Windsurfing Championships, Inter-School Archery 2011-2012 Individual Tournament etc.
All guests enjoyed the rhythmic African Drum performance, Chinese instrumental performance, Choral
Speaking and Senior Choir performance presented by the students. A slide presentation on the school
redevelopment project allowed all guests to have a better understanding on the progress of the project. The
school welcomes donations of “Bring Back our Angels” Campaign and Name a Louvre.
Sharing from Joyce Hui, SFCC Graduate (2005)
I spent 12 years in St. Francis' and it's been 7 years since I graduated. My school life MEMORIES are still
fresh and they are very precious to me. I went back to school in the end of April, the school redevelopment
project was in progress, things changed, environment changed, but people didn't change. They are just like
my family, and time didn't separate us. I can totally be myself in front of them, I don’t have to put up any
front because they know me, love and accept me exactly as I am.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Sister and all teachers. You've made me become a
better person.
GOD Bless you.
Joyce Hui (2005)
Sacred Heart Canossian College Alumni Association – 50th Anniversary Dinner
Sacred Heart Canossian College (SHCC) held its AGM cum Annual Dinner on 18th November 2011. It was
also an occasion to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of their Alumni Association. This big event was held at
Maxim’s Palace, Shun Tak Centre.
The night’s programme started off with a team of young Sacred Heartists’ jovial dance, followed by the
melodious singing of the school choir. The audience’s excitement was pushed to a climax when the
hostesses invited former teachers to join the game session on stage. All sisters, teachers, alumnae, and
guests alike had a wonderful time together.
Two of our committee members, Ms. Celia Lam and Ms. Diana Yip, attended the occasion and expressed
our warm and hearty appreciation and congratulations to SHCC AA.
