Unique Nordic-Baltic business delegation
went to China

Eleven companies from Estonia, Finland and Sweden travelled to China together
with official delegates from each country on the 17th of March. The delegation
was headed by Governor Elisabeth Nilsson from the County Administrative Board
of Östergötland, Sweden. The aim was to meet with Chinese enterprises and
authorities, establish contacts with potential investors and to conduct businessto-business meetings
The joint delegation proved to be very successful and it will result in specific
cooperation and business making. Many of the participating companies
established important business contacts.

We are now back after a
fantastic business delegation
trip to China within the frame
of the BENCH project. China
is an overwhelming country
that always makes a deep
impression on visitors.
Except for business contacts,
we got the opportunity to
meet with really high-ranked
Chinese officials that
received our delegation in a
most friendly and generous
way. It was a real joy to see
the Estonian, Finnish and
Swedish companies in action
making new contacts in
China.
More than 250 Chinese companies
participated in Nordic Room
Nordic Room generated great interest amongst Chinese entrepreneurs, and all
together the venue had more than 250 participants. 70 companies came to
Shanghai to listen to Governor Elisabeth Nilsson inaugurate the first Nordic Room
ever.
I am very proud of the
BENCH project partners that
have been involved in all the
preparations for the trip. They
have done a fabulous work. I
am also most grateful for all
the support we have gotten
from the representatives at
the Estonian, Finnish and
Swedish Consulate Generals
in China. Their help has been
invaluable both when it
comes to arranging the
meetings with important
Chinese officials as well as
their advice and sharing of
contacts in China.

This trip is a result of our
The first Nordic Room, a forum for Northern European small and medium
sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their products and services to
potential business partners in China, was held in Shanghai, Wuxi and
Nanjing during the BENCH trip to China.
In Nordic Room seminars companies, business entities, and representatives of
public and semi-public organizations come together to engage in Businessto-Business and Government-to-Business networking and matchmaking.

to have gotten the opportunity to lead a delegation with representatives
from Estonia and regions in Finland and Sweden within the frame of a
project called BENCH, said Elisabeth Nilsson in her in inauguration speech.

Meet PPAM, Swedish enterprise in the
delegation
One of the companies that joined the BENCH trip to
China is PPAM.se from Sweden. PPAM specializes
in solar power installations and low-energy building
solutions. Managing Director Andreas Molin had
many expectations for the trip.
- Amongst other things, I hope to initiate a pilot
project for refurbishment of low-energy
buildings, says Andreas Molin. China is a
country that goes through a lot of changes and
now that they have the chance to transform their
buildings into something much more
sustainable, it would be great if they could think
low-energy from the beginning.
Andreas Molin thinks it is a good opportunity to go
on a business trip to China together with a large
delegation. As a small company, PPAM has only two
empolyees, the delegation helps with venues and
business contacts.
