The artifact collection contains
an eight silver plated piece tea
set. There are a coffee pot,
two tea pots, a creamer, sugar
bowl and finger bowl. Also,
included are two trays. The
larger one is for the tea set
proper while the other is for
serving food. All the pieces are
intricately etched with floral
patterns which frame the
lettering 1860 B 1885. There
is a framed portrait of
Blakeslee as well as a framed
genealogical tree that includes
photographs of various family
members.

reflection of its creation. The
bottom of the stick has a
knobby relief as if mimicking a
tree trunk with the branches
cut off. The foot cap is missing
on the bottom. The stick is
made from pine with a dark
color stain cover. The
dimensions are 31" long x 1.5 “
wide x 2" high. Accession

The top has an image of John
Wesley in brown ink. The rim
states “John Wesley. Founder

Ohio Sept 6 1893. There is
gold decoration on the rim as
well.
The bottom has the
manufactures mark. The outer
circle inscription says, Stone
China Burford Bros. The
center circle says Coral Shape
and the inner Circle has an
upper case B. There are eight
defects or chips in the finish.

the John Wesley Teapot with
sugar bowl and creamer
pitcher.
All four pieces are decorated in
blue delf color. The teapot has
the standard Wesley prayers
on both sides. Floral and
calico patterns mark the
teapot, creamer and sugar
bowl.
On the bottom of the teapot
has the Wedgwood mark along
with the Duffee and Stratton
Importers mark. Above the
mark there is an inscription
which states, “Replica of the
Wesley-Wedgwood Teapot.
From the original in John
Wesley’s House, City Road,
London. First made by Josiah
Wedgwood 1761.
The bottom of the creamer as
the Wedgwood mark along
with the inscription, “WesleyWedgwood, Blue Calico

A carved walking stick with
a bust of Wesley on top of his
London Chapel with a date
inscribed “1792". The date is
not a reflection of its creation.
The bottom of the stick has a
knobby relief as if mimicking a
tree trunk with the branches
cut off. The foot cap is missing
on the bottom. The stick is
made from pine with a dark
color stain cover. The
dimensions are 31" long x 1.5 “
wide x 2" high.
The cane originally
belonged to Robert M. Pope
(1846-1911), Canadian
Methodist Minister. Pope was
born September 1846, in
Kingston, Ontario. His ministry
began in 1868 with an
appointment to the Inverary
Circuit. He graduated from
Albert College and was sent
west as the denominational
custom dictated in that time
period. After serving a number
churches, Pope tried to retire in
1895 but was shortly thereafter
called back into active ministry
until 1905. Pope died in March
of 1911 at Belleville, Ontario.

A two-handle ceramic ware,
possibly a cup or sugar bowl,
created to celebrate the fiftieth
anniversary of British Methodist
Union in 1932. The artifact has
an image of John Wesley on
horseback, framed by a wreath
motif, with an inscription
underneath stating, The World
is My Parish. On the reverse
side is the inscription, “To
Commemorate the Golden
Jubilee of Methodist Union
1932-1982. This, too, keeps
the same wreath motif of the
Wesley image. Both wreaths
are bordered by four vertical
corners of the same floral
design. The bottom of the
artifact has the inscription, Alan
and Roberta Scott which
continues underneath with
Gnosall Methodist Church
Stafford. The artifact is a
limited production run with this
one being one of three
hundred. The dimensions are
3.5 inches tall and 6 inches
wide including both handles.

Decoration which hangs on
the handle of a wooden closet
where individuals store their
bed rolls. Another use is for
costume decoration. Such are
the artifacts kept here. In
specific incidents a variation of
this type of decoration is worn
by women if they have been
sexually harassed or abused.
In those cases this specific
type of No-ri-ges also contains
small dagger which is used to
commit suicide.
One is blue and one is red.
Both are tasseled No-ri-ges
with the same butterfly motif.
