Overview
Introduction
Some of the default variable values set in Auto Backup are incorrect and may
cause issues during the backup and restore process. This technical bulletin
describes those variables and explains how to adjust their values to avoid issues.
Important: You should be able to complete a backup process using a single tape.
If you see a message in /dvs/dncs/tmp/abServer.Log about inserting "tape 2,"
then the process will not finish due to the Tape Size variable.

This document was written for system operators. Field service engineers and
Cisco Services engineers may also find the information in this document helpful.

Adjusting the Auto Backup Configuration Variables
You will need to adjust three different configuration variables in three different files
to complete this procedure. This procedures assumes that you have a working
knowledge of UNIX and a text editor such as vi editor.
1 Login to AutoBackup server as 'abadmin'.
2 Navigate to the /export/home/abaccess/ab/app/engine directory and edit the
DbBackupScript.inp file.
3 At around line 23, locate the line tapeSize=30000000 and change this value to
tapeSize=60000000.
4 Save and close the file.
5 In the same directory, edit the DbRestoreScript.inp file.
6 At around line 23, locate the line tapeSize=30000000 and change this value to
tapeSize=60000000.
7 Save and close the file.
8 In the same directory, edit the RSTR_DBDS_DB.run file.
9 At around line 83, locate the following line:
"grep -c Restore", 7200, "grep -c \"restore failed\"")
and change the value to the following
"grep -c Restore", 14400, "grep -c \"restore failed\"");
10 Save and close the file.
