Center for Internships and Career Development Work-Study Student Employment Information
Jobs: How to Find On-Campus Work Study Employment Opportunities
Work-study positions on campus can be found in several different areas: Jobs
may be posted in Drew Link, Drew University’s online database on-campus
employment, part-time jobs, full-time jobs, and internships.
To access DrewLink:
Go to: www.drew.edu/career/drewlink-internship-database and click on the “For
Students” link to access the DrewLink Webpage
Click Here First Time Users: Click “Register” on the right side of the screen.
Click Here Center for Internships and Career Development Enter your Drew Email address and the password “acorn”.
Your Drew Email Address and the password “acorn” Once you have entered your email and password, you must enter the following
information: your full name (first, middle initial, & last), email, phone number,
graduation date, year in school, major, whether you are a student or alumni, and
your work authorization.

(select “Yes”) and if you would like your resume added to Resume Books (select
“No”).

Click Here Next, Select the “Advance Search” tab. Then, for “Position Type” select “OnCampus Student Employment”.

opportunity on DrewLink you need to:
Check with departments on campus that utilize their own recruiting/websites.

You should use multiple resources during an active job search. In addition to
electronic listings, look for jobs advertised on office bulletin boards and using
your network contacts. You should also reach out to Professors and departments
that you are interested in. Make sure you your resume is ready to drop off!
What do I do once I am hired?
Once you are hired both the I-9 and the W-4 need to be completed, signed, and
returned with the acceptable documentation to the Center for Internships and
Career Development in Sycamore Cottage.
One component of the I-9 is verifying authorization to work in the United States.
You can pick the type of ID you present based on the list of acceptable
documents requirements outlined in the Form I-9. Examples of some of these
documents are unexpired U.S. Passport, Permanent Resident Card, Social
Security card, certified Birth Certificate, etc.

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf. When can I start working?
You will receive an email notification that you have been approved to start
working once all your paperwork has been approved.
How do I get paid? How Do I Submit My Hours? Where Do I Get My Check?
You will be paid bi-weekly (see Payroll Schedule) in the form of a check sent to
your Drew Campus Mail Box.

Scroll down to the “Time Reporting” Section of the website and click on the pay
period that you are currently in. (Example: in this case this students hours are
due April 25th, so click on the April25th pay period and enter all hours you have
worked during that time period)
Due April 25th Click “Enter Hours” on the day you would like to enter hours for (Example:
Monday, April 18th)
Enter Hours Center for Internships and Career Development Next, enter the times that your shift started and ended in the proper time format
(meaning 10:00 not 10) and then hit next day and enter the hours for the other
days you worked during that time period
Enter Hours Here Next Day Once all of your hours for the time period have been entered, click “Time Sheet”
Time Sheet Confirm that the Total Number of Hours listed for the pay period are correct and
then click “Submit for Approval”
Total Hours Submit for Approval Center for Internships and Career Development Once your time sheet has been submitted, a message will appear on the screen
saying “Your time sheet was submitted successfully”, underneath your hours it
will say that your name under “Submitted for Approval By” and your manger’s
name under “Waiting for Approval From”.

Service (FCSP)
The Federal Community Service Program (FCSP) gives students the opportunity
to work off campus in a non-profit organization and earn their work-study money
at the highest pay rate. The work students perform is for the benefit of the
national or community welfare and to complement the education goals of the
students.
To access FCSP Jobs on DrewLink:
Go to “Jobs & Internships” on the left.
Click Here Select the “Advanced Search” tab and then, for “Position Type” select “Federal
Community Service Program”

After finding a FCSP listing on DrewLink contact the name and number of the
person listed on the posting and arrange an interview.
Center for Internships and Career Development If you do not find a FCSP job on DrewLink, visit the Center for Internships &
Career Development for a list of approved organizations and job descriptions.
I Have Been Hired For a Federal Community Service Position (FCSP). Now
What Do I Do?
Visit the Center for Internships and Career Development office to complete all the
necessary documents. You many not begin work until you have been notified by
the Center for Internships and Career Development that Financial Aid has
granted you clearance to work. Please pick up a payroll schedule and time
sheets from the Center.
How Do I Submit My Time sheets and Online Hours for a Federal
Community Service Position (FCSP)?
Time sheets are turned in bi-weekly to the Center for Internships and Career
Development office by 10 am on the due date (refer to the Payroll Schedule).
Time sheets muse include the signature of the authorized job supervisor. Only
original time sheets will be accepted, no faxed or emailed copies.
You must also submit your hours online by 10 am on the due date using the
“FecComSvc” tab. Online submission of your hours and submitting the
original, signed time sheets are both required in order for you to get paid.
