If you have problems connecting to SCC’s 802.1x SSID - ‘MyWiFi@SCC’ - try disabling this software and use Microsoft's built-in configuration tool instead. 1. Right-click on the wireless network icon in the taskbar (bottom right on the desktop). Select “Open Network and Sharing Center”. 2. In the window that appears, select “Set up a new connection or network”. 3. Select “Manually connect to a wireless network”. 4. Enter information for the wireless network you want to add: o Network name: MyWiFi@SCC (case-sensitive) o Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise 5. Click Next. 6. Click “Change connection settings”. 7. Verify Security type is “WPA-Enterprise” and Encryption type is “AES.” o For SCC devices: Un-check the “Remember my credentials for this connection...” box. o For PERSONAL devices: Check the “Remember my credentials for this connection...” box. 8. Click the Settings button. 9. Uncheck the box marked “Validate server certificate”. In “Select Authentication Method:” select: “Secured Password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)”. o Check the box for “Enable Fast Reconnect.” 10. Click Configure. 11. Uncheck “Automatically use my Windows logon name and password.” 12. Click OK. 13. Select Advanced Settings. 14. Check the “Specify Authentication Mode” box. 15. Select “User or computer authentication”. 16. Click OK. 17. In the next window, click OK again. You are now set up to automatically connect to ‘MyWiFi@SCC’ 18. Click Close on the “Successfully added MyWiFi@SCC” network dialog TO LOG IN: 1. Click on the Wireless icon in the taskbar (bottom right on the Desktop). 2. Choose ‘MyWiFi@SCC’ and click Connect. 3. Enter your MEID (must be in the UPN format of username@domain – [email protected]) and associated password. 4. Click OK. Notice the host attempting to connect to MyWiFi@SCC, which will state “Connected” once susseful. On the iOS device, from the home screen, tap “Settings”. 2. Tap “Wi-Fi”; it will scan for available networks. 3. Select ‘MyWiFi@SCC’ 4. When prompted for a username/password, enter your MEID (must be in the UPN format of username@domain – [email protected]) and associated password. 5. Tap “Join” to connect. 6. The first time you connect, you will be asked to accept/trust the server’s certificate, NPS01.scc.maricopa.edu. Do so by selecting “Trust” at the prompt. You will only need to accept the certificate the first time you authenticate to ‘MyWiFi@SCC’. After that, authentication will be automatic for the device. NOTE: If the procedure above fails, configure the connection manually by going to “Join Other Network…” and follow these parameters to set up the connection. Back to Top Mac OSX How to configure Mac OSX with 802.1x Authentication 1. From the Wi-Fi menu located in the upper-right-hand corner of the Desktop, choose ‘MyWiFi@SCC’ from the list of networks. (If Wi-Fi is off, you must “Turn Wi-Fi On” first.) 2. Enter your MEID (must be in the UPN format of username@domain – [email protected]) and associated password. Leave 802.1X Mode: set to “Automatic”. If you want to save your login credentials so you don’t have to enter them each time you connect, select “Remember this network”. Click “OK” to continue. 3. The first time you connect, you may be asked to accept the server’s certificate, NPS01.scc.maricopa.edu. Do so by selecting “Continue” at the prompt - after that, authentication will be automatic for the device. NOTE: If the procedure above fails, configure the connection manually by going to “Join Other Network…” and follow these parameters to set up the connection. Tap the network ‘MyWiFi@SCC’ and select “Modify network config” Or select “Add network” from the “More” menu if MyWiFi@SCC is not present in the list. 3. Configure the following parameters: o 802.1x Settings (Your device may not require all of the settings included below): o Network name: MyWiFi@SCC (case sensitive) o Security type: 802.1x PEAP o EAP method: PEAP o Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2 o CA Certificate: Unspecified (only option) o Client Certificate: [if present: Unspecified (only option)] o Identity: Enter your MEID (must be in the UPN format of username@domain – [email protected]) o Anonymous Identity: leave blank Wireless Password: MEID password Click “Connect” NOTE: The first time you connect, you may be asked to accept the server’s certificate, NPS01.scc.maricopa.edu. Do so by selecting “Continue” or “Trust” at the prompt. You will only need to accept the certificate the first time you authenticate to ‘MyWiFi@SCC’. After that, authentication will be automatic. Under “Internet Connection”, click “Wi-Fi network” from the drop-down menu and select “MyWiFi@SCC”. 4. In the window that opens click the “Configure” button and verify the settings are correct: 5. Click the "Connect" button. 6. If “MyWiFi@SCC” is not present in the list (or if you fail to connect as described above) click on “Add connection” and select “Add Wi-Fi…” 7. On the “Join Wi-Fi network” page click on the “Advanced” button. 8.
