Procedure zhT zhS JA KO ڜᇘ࿓!ݧ ᅝ㺙ᑣ 手続 Quick Install Guide for Cisco LCD Professional Series Displays 78-19168-01 -C0 15 Maintain a UK Power Cord Assembly Step 1 Place soft fabric on table. Step 2 Place display on towel, facing downward. Step 3 Put the stand in place, as illustrated. Step 4 Screw the stand securely into place. Step 5 Snap the cover securely into place. Step 6 Maintain a UK Power Cord Assembly UK When you purchase this product for use in the United Kingdom, the supplied power cord assembly complies with a residential electrical wiring standard called BS 1363. The power cord is equipped with a moulded and fitted “mains” plug that is field-replaceable. In turn, this plug contains a separately field-repeatable fuse whose standard is called BS 1362. • Replace the Fuse in a UK Mains Power Plug, page 17 • Replace an Unsuitable Mains Plug, page 18 Quick Install Guide for Cisco LCD Professional Series Displays 16 78-19168-01 -C0 Maintain a UK Power Cord Assembly Replace the Fuse in a UK Mains Power Plug The small, glass cartridge fuse inside a mains plug acts as a safety mechanism. When the plug is connected to an overheated electrical circuit, the filament inside the fuse weakens and begins to melt. Then, it snaps in two. This behavior severs the connection between the opposing metal terminals at either end of the fuse and, thus, disconnects the product from its power source. The benefit is lowered risk of an electrical fire. However, the product will not work again until you replace the damaged fuse inside the mains plug. Procedure zhT zhS JA KO Step 1 ڜᇘ࿓!ݧ ᅝ㺙ᑣ 手続 Unplug the power cord at both ends. Do not connect the cord to any socket or any product until you finish the minor repair that this simple walkthrough describes. Step 2 Obtain a suitable new cartridge fuse to replace the damaged one. You will need a 13A fuse, rated at 250V. Generally, this type of fuse is colored brown. Also, verify that you see either the ASTA mark ( ) or the BSI mark ( ) somewhere on the fuse body. Step 3 Caution Step 4 Use a slotted screwdriver blade to lift the fuse cover from the mains plug and reveal the damaged fuse. Do not misplace or discard the fuse cover! You must not use the power cord again until this cover is in place. Grip the damaged fuse by its terminals and gently pull it straight out. Quick Install Guide for Cisco LCD Professional Series Displays 78-19168-01 -C0 17 Maintain a UK Power Cord Assembly Step 5 Push the new fuse into place, and then push the fuse cover back in place. Step 6 Replace an Unsuitable Mains Plug Is the fitted plug suitable for the mains socket where you will use this product? If not, you must remove the fitted plug and replace it with a suitable one. Caution This product must be grounded (earthed). Procedure zhT zhS JA KO Step 1 ڜᇘ࿓!ݧ ᅝ㺙ᑣ 手続 Unplug the power cord at both ends. Do not connect the cord to any socket or product until you finish the repair that this walkthrough describes. Step 2 Unscrew and remove the plug cover. Step 3 Loosen the screws at each terminal, and then free any wires as needed. Step 4 Remove the now-disconnected plug and steady the new plug that will replace it. Quick Install Guide for Cisco LCD Professional Series Displays 18 78-19168-01 -C0 Maintain a UK Power Cord Assembly Although the wires in our power cord use up-to-date color coding, a plug that you obtain separately might use other codes to distinguish among its terminals. This figure illustrates our color coding. Step 6 Clamp the cable grip securely over the outer insulation of the lead, and not merely over the three wires. Step 7 Replace the plug cover. Step 8 Warning Tip Destroy and discard the severed plug. A plug with bare wires can be a dangerous shock hazard. Hire a licensed electrician to complete this hazardous work safely and correctly on your behalf.
