Scholarship Renewal Policy

SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL POLICY
DREW UNIVERSITY
2016-17
Baldwin and Presidential Scholar Scholarships are renewable and can be received
for a maximum of eight semesters (fall and spring). Renewal of the scholarships
requires that students be enrolled full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or
higher.

GPAs will be reviewed annually at the conclusion of the spring semester.
A student whose GPA falls below the required 3.0 may have his/her
scholarship reduced to the Dean’s level ($15,000).
A student may keep the scholarship at its awarded level for up to a year on
probation at the discretion of the vice president for enrollment. Probation is
generally granted to students who are close to a 3.0 GPA and who can likely
achieve that level within the next academic year.
GPAs for scholarship recipients on probation are monitored on a semester by
semester basis, and a scholarship can either be: reduced if the GPA does not
improve, continued on probation for one additional semester if it does
improve, or removed from probation if the cumulative GPA reaches a 3.0 or
higher.
A student for whom the scholarship is part of a greater need based financial
aid award and whose scholarship is reduced to the Dean’s level of $15,000,
may be eligible to receive additional need-based grant aid.
A student who becomes ineligible for the Baldwin or Presidential Scholarship
may have that scholarship reinstated when their cumulative GPA rises to a
3.0 or higher.
Dean’s and Drew Scholarships are renewable and can be received for a maximum of
eight semesters (fall and spring). Renewal requires that recipients remain enrolled
as full-time students in good academic standing.
