USER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Evening & Weekend Key Drop & Pick Up at College Safety
Scottsdale Community College takes seriously the protection of public property and our employees. These procedures were
designed to ensure all approved drivers are aware of their responsibility to report vehicular problems to Facilities and the
next approved driver.
PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLES
The requirement to report vehicular problems applies whether or not a College Safety employee personally
accepts the keys from you upon your return, or you drop them in their office and leave. You alone, the last
driver of the vehicle, have the responsibility to:
1. Report vehicular problems by using the telephone notification tree below to ensure someone from
Facilities authorizes the vehicle to leave again before a safety check can be made.
2. Report to the next driver when told a vehicle cannot leave campus. Check your paperwork for next
scheduled driver and call them right away so they can make other transportation arrangements.
3. Make note of the vehicle problem on the vehicle Event Confirmation paper.
“By signing, I acknowledge that I understand it is my responsibility to report problems with vehicles using the telephone
notification tree below. I will also let the next driver know should the vehicle be pulled from use. I will leave the keys
with the on duty College Safety employee.”

COLLEGE SAFETY
Evening & Weekend Key Drop & Pick Up
Scottsdale Community College takes seriously the protection of public property and our employees. These procedures were
designed to ensure all approved drivers are aware of their responsibility to report vehicular problems immediately upon
return of the vehicle to campus.
ACCEPTING KEYS
Drivers are instructed to leave keys with the on duty College Safety employee.
If the College Safety employee is out they are to call 480.423.6175 and wait until
that employee arrives to accept the keys.
Be sure to secure any campus vehicle keys in the designated basket so they can be
found when the next driver arrives to pick up the keys.
Facilities will pick up the keys the next work day.
RELEASING KEYS
Facilities Scheduling Services will provide a list of approved drivers dropping off and
picking up keys at College Safety.
Check ID of person picking up the vehicle. Must be on approved driver’s list.
On rare occasions Facilities Scheduling Services may authorize someone to pick up
the keys on behalf of the approved driver—this will be noted on the list.
Drivers must sign the list again when you release keys.
PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLES
Drivers have been instructed that it is their duty to report vehicular problems to
Facilities using the telephone notification tree on the opposite page. It is not enough to
write about the problem on their vehicle usage packet.
It is their responsibility to notify the next driver immediately if Facilities determines a
vehicle is not safe for use.
If they report a problem to you, remind them to use the notification tree to report the
problem immediately.
