Bridge Scholarship Terms and Conditions Consent Page
Award description
• The Kaplan University Bridge Scholarship allows a recipient of the award to enroll in an undergraduate online degree program for a reduced tuition
cost of $275.00 per quarter credit hour for each term in which the student remains qualified to receive the award.
• The Kaplan University Bridge Scholarship will be reflected as a credit in the recipient’s student account for total tuition costs. Award recipients
who withdraw from an undergraduate degree program after the Kaplan Commitment period will not be entitled to any cash payout for unused
scholarship amounts or credits reflected in the recipient’s student account.
• The scholarship tuition reduction is subject to change in the event of a decrease in the credit hour price for the program.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO QUALIFY FOR THE KAPLAN UNIVERSITY BRIDGE SCHOLARSHIP
• Must be a graduate of an associate’s degree program from the Dallas County Community College District, Maricopa Community College District,
Houston Community College District, Cochise College, or Fayetteville College.
• Must be a first-time enrollee in an undergraduate degree program at Kaplan University; continuing and certificate program students are not eligible.
• The cumulative GPA on all prior coursework must have been at least 3.0 of 4.0 or higher.
• The student must be accepted into the Kaplan University online degree program.
Scholarship disbursement criteria for term 1
• Scholarship-eligible students whose official transcripts are received by the University no later than 5 business days prior to their Term 1 start date
will have the credit for the scholarship reflected in their student account for Term 1. Scholarship-eligible students whose official transcripts are not
received by the University no later than 5 business days before their Term 1 start date will not be eligible to receive the scholarship in Term 1 and no
credit will be reflected in the student’s account.
• Students must enroll to take a minimum of two courses for Term 1.
Scholarship disbursement criteria for term 2 and beyond
• Students whose official transcripts were not received in time for Term 1 disbursement must submit their official transcript by the end of the fifth
week of Term 1 courses to begin receiving the disbursement in Term 2.
• Students must enroll to take a minimum of two courses for Term 2.
• Students must have received a GPA of 3.0 of 4.0 or higher for Term 1.
• Students must be in good financial standing with Kaplan University.
NOTE: SCHOLARSHIP DISBURSEMENT ELIGIBILITY CANNOT BE REGAINED BY A STUDENT ONCE IT IS LOST.
CONTINUED AWARD ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR DISBURSEMENT IN TERMS 3 AND BEYOND
• Student must be continuously enrolled in the online degree program at Kaplan University; students who withdraw or take a leave of absence will no
longer be eligible for the scholarship. Students who withdraw will not be entitled to any cash payout for an unused scholarship amount.
• Students must take a minimum of two courses per term.
• Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 of 4.0 or higher.
• Students must remain in good financial standing with Kaplan University.
OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
• The Kaplan University Bridge Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other Kaplan University discount, voucher, or scholarship,
including, but not limited to, existing articulation agreement discounts applicable to students graduating from Dallas County Community College
District, Maricopa Community College District, Houston Community College District, Cochise College, or Fayetteville College.
• Employees of Kaplan, Inc., and its subsidiaries, and their spouses or children are not eligible.
• Continuing education, certificate programs, and students who are not first-time degree program enrollees are not eligible for the Kaplan University
Bridge Scholarship.
• Kaplan University reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures for the Kaplan University Bridge Scholarship and to make changes at
any time. Kaplan University may also change its tuition rates at any time in its sole discretion and the recipients continuing to receive this award will
receive a credit to their student account that will be calculated on the published tuition in effect for each applicable academic term of a recipient’s
enrollment at Kaplan University. The offering, substitution, or cancellation of any online degree program will be at Kaplan University or its affiliates’
sole discretion.
Application Process
• To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must complete and submit the Kaplan University Bridge Scholarship application. Applications must
be submitted to the applicant’s Admissions Advisor no more than 2 weeks prior to the start of the applicant’s first term. Official transcripts must be
submitted to the applicant’s Admissions Advisor no later than 5 days prior to the applicant’s Term 1 or Term 2 start date.
• To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must provide an official transcript that confirms that the candidate has earned an associate’s degree from
Dallas County Community College District, Maricopa Community College District, Houston Community College District, Cochise College, or
Fayetteville College. The cumulative grade point average (CGPA) on all prior coursework for the student’s associate’s degree must have been at least
3.0 out of 4.0.
• Applicants who meet the Scholarship eligibility criteria will be emailed an award letter by their Admissions Advisor.
• Applicants who do not meet the Scholarship eligibility criteria will be informed via email.
