Please use this form to report any non-institutional/private scholarships (NISC) or noninstitutional loans (NILN) you will be receiving.
Include all scholarships from your high school, church, private businesses, clubs, or private individuals.
(Do not list gifts from family members or friends. Do not list scholarships that are from any state,
Federal, or Messiah College sources such as PHEAA State Grant, Federal PELL Grant, Provost
Scholarship, Messiah College Scholarship, etc.).
Include interest-free or low-interest loans you will be receiving from private organizations, marked
clearly on this form as “loans”.
If we know about these scholarships or loans by July, your financial aid award and student bill will be
more accurate, and we won’t need to revise your financial aid award later in the year. This gives you a
better idea of the final amounts of your financial aid (especially loans) earlier in the year.

Federal regulations require schools to include these scholarships and loans as part of your
Financial Aid package, even if the check will be coming directly to you.

You must complete this form annually if you expect to receive any non-institutional or private
scholarships or loans for the upcoming academic year.

determining your loan eligibility. ** Important: Messiah’s policy is to split scholarships for the academic year
(half for fall & half for spring) unless specified otherwise by the awarding organization.
Documentation is required from the organization for any one-semester-only scholarships.
