2016 SUMMER HOUSING FACT SHEET SUMMER HOUSING RATES $200 for all intensive courses (5 nights), with the following exceptions: $240 for MUSI 513 (6 nights) $280 for MUSI 521 (7 nights) CHECK-IN is between 3:00pm – 11:00pm the day before your first class. CHECK-OUT is 9:00am the last day of class. CONFERENCE SERVICES PHONE NUMBER: (717) 691-6009 DATES OF RESERVATION With the exception of some of the Conducting courses, all graduate student housing reservations will be for five nights (Sunday afternoon through Friday at 9:00 am). Please make reservations as early as possible. All single rooms will be reserved on a first come, first served, basis. Later reservations may require that students share a room with another graduate student. ROOM DESCRIPTION Graduate students are housed in the College’s residence halls. All rooms are air conditioned and have Wifi access. Institutional linens (two sheets, a pillow case, blanket, pillow, two towels, and a washcloth) are provided for each resident. The lounges on each floor are equipped with a refrigerator and stove, but do not have a microwave or coffee maker. Every residence hall has laundry room facilities in the basement. KEYS/ACCESS CARDS Keys to individual rooms are distributed when you check in from the Guest Relations desk located in the main lobby of the Eisenhower Campus Center. Room keys should be returned to the Guest Relations desk upon check out. You will be charged a $75.00 replacement fee for keys not returned. A room key may not be duplicated. In addition, your Messiah College Student ID access card will be needed to gain access to your building so be sure to bring it with you the week you are on campus. An access card reader can be found at the outside entrance of each dormitory/apartment building. All residence hall doors will remain locked during your stay. We ask that you do not prop open doors that are locked. If you do not have a Messiah College Student ID card, you can upload your photo now by logging into MCSquare, clicking on Self-Service, the Student tab, and then clicking on the ID Photo Upload link. Your jpeg will be sent to the Falcon Exchange Office for processing and your ID card will be ready for you to pick up when you check in. (Please note: you will need a photo ID to pick up your new Messiah College Student ID card). You may also stop by the Falcon Exchange Office located on the upper level of the Eisenhower Campus Center prior to your stay and have them take your picture, if you would prefer. Their hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. PARKING Graduate students attending summer intensive courses are permitted to park on campus without obtaining a parking sticker/hang tag. However, students should not park in designated employee parking areas or in areas specifically marked for service vehicles. View campus parking map. BILLING Housing fees will be charged to your student account in accordance with the rates and fees listed. MEALS Dining Hall The Lottie Nelson Dining Hall is located on the upper level of the Eisenhower Campus Center. Meals are served buffet style and offer a variety of food options including hot entrees, an extensive salad bar, and a host of beverages and desserts. Forms of payment accepted: Cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and Falcon Dollars. Hours and prices will be available shortly. Snack Shop The Falcon (our snack shop), located on the 1st floor of Eisenhower Campus Center, offers Starbucks coffee and specialty drinks as well as Panini’s, sliders, soups, tossed salads, rice bowls, chicken tenders, grab n' go products and daily features. Forms of payment accepted: Cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Falcon Dollars. CAMPUS HOUSING POLICIES a. Quiet hours: 10 pm – 8:00 am b. Messiah College is a smoke-free environment; smoking is not permitted on campus. If you must smoke, we ask that you do so in your car. c. The use or possession of drugs, other than for medical reasons, is strictly prohibited. d. The use or possession of alcoholic beverages is not permitted on campus. e. No pets are permitted on campus. f. The cost of any loss or damage to facilities and equipment will be billed to your student account. g. Graduate student housing is limited to current graduate students. CHECK OUT AND DEPARTURE Check out time is 9 am. You are responsible for any damage, repair, or replacement of the furnishings, doors, windows, walls and the conditions of the space during the term of occupancy. You must remove all trash and personal belongings upon departure and leave the room in a clean and acceptable condition. The College assumes no responsibility for belongings left in the space assigned. Failure to leave the room in a clean and acceptable condition will result in a charge on your student account. THE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY AND DISPATCHERS The Department of Safety has uniformed officers on duty 24 hours a day, patrolling the campus buildings, grounds, and parking lots. In addition, Dispatchers are available 24 hours a day by calling extension 6005 or 691-6005, or by visiting them on the main level of the Eisenhower Campus Center. If you need to contact a Safety Officer, please contact the dispatcher at extension 6005, and they will assist you in contacting an officer.
