COURSES
The criminal justice system offers a number of
interesting careers focusing on law enforcement
and the application of science to law. SCC’s
Administration of Justice Studies program offers
you several options for degrees and specialized
coursework in a number of fields.
SCC offers a large variety of academic and
practical courses in criminal justice, law,
police science and forensic science. Many
transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
Whether you are interested in a career, wish
to enhance your professional skills, want to
find an interesting course to incorporate into
your degree program, or are seeking personal
enrichment, you will find several learning
opportunities.
POPULAR CLASSES
The two-year Associate in Applied Science
Degree in Administration of Justice Studies
consists of 64 –66 credits. Of the 20 courses, 15
are criminal justice courses and the remainder
consists of basic college courses in English,
communications, math, and a forensic lab science.

TRANSFER OPPORTUNITITES
You will be able to transfer to
many four-year colleges and universities
to pursue a BA or BS degree, which will assist
you in furthering your education to become a:
FACULTY
All full-time faculty members have PhD degrees
and a minimum of 20 years police experience.
Adjunct and part-time faculty have occupational
experience in the areas they teach, including
policing, victim’s advocacy, law, criminal
investigation and crime scene processing. Our
instructors not only know about what they teach
but have done it!

CAREER
Most local police departments will hire you as
a police officer with a high school diploma or a
two-year college degree. A four-year degree is
typically needed to be a federal agent with the
FBI or DEA. A four-year degree will be needed
for a career as a crime lab criminalist.
