OUR LADY OF LOURDES HOSPITAL IN BINGHAMTON - "A Communities Experience with Major Flooding, Turning Adversity into Opportunity" Wayne Mitteer, RN MS is recently retired as Vice President of Clinical Services at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, New York. Mr. Mitteer had direct involvements in both the 2006 flood which required full evacuation and closure of the Hospital resulting in over 21 million dollars in damage; and, the 2011 flood which allowed the hospital to continue operations because of the flood mitigation strategy that was put in place.
