Johns Hopkins Medicine International (JHI)
is the international arm of Johns Hopkins
Medicine with a mission to advance the
institution’s vision of improving health care throughout the world through excellence in
patient care, education and research.
The organization has more than a decade of
experience collaborating with governments,
non-governmental organizations, academic
institutions, private health care providers
and other health care organizations around
the world to reinvigorate or develop
radically new models of health care
delivery. JHI also provides personalized,
culturally appropriate care for patients
traveling to Johns Hopkins from outside
Maryland and the United States.
JHI is calling out to all highly qualified
graduate students in MBA/MHA/MPH
programs around the world to apply for the
Graduate Summer Internship Program.
POSITION SUMMARY:
COMPETENCIES:
The summer internship is a 10-week program
that allows the intern to gain unparalleled
exposure into JHI’s operations in Baltimore and around the globe. The intern will be able
to work on various projects performing
analytical and quantitative roles at our
central Baltimore office. Division Leaders,
Project Administrators and Associates will
serve as mentors for specific skills and
different areas of expertise.
Education:
Eligible candidates will be working towards
a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health,
International Business or related field.
The Graduate Intern is responsible for the
completion of projects as assigned by JHI
Leadership and by his/her preceptors. The
position can be assigned to projects in
International Patient Services (IPS) or Global
Services (GS).
The range of projects at IPS may include:
International Patient Intake and
Coordination, Patient Experience, Business &
Decision Support, Finance, Billing &
Collection, Care Management, and Embassy
Relations.
The range of projects at GS may include:
Business Improvement and Program
Development Overseas, Qualitative and
Quantitative Market Research, Business
Intelligence, Proposal Development, Report
Writing and Editing, Translations, and
Logistical Support.
Skills:
Requires critical thinking and systemsperspective analytical abilities with
the flexibility to understand micro
level details
Requires strong analytical ability to
gather, interpret and research data
from various sources
Requires excellent communication
and interpersonal skills to effectively
communicate and interface with
diverse levels of staff and businessrelated associates
