Summer Conference Map General Statement of Purpose Messiah College wishes to insure a productive, happy and safe time to all conferences during their time on campus.The college often has multiple events operating simultaneously.The wide variety of activities places a premium on available parking.Additionally, the pedestrian nature of the college requires that drivers take particular caution when operating a vehicle on campus. In order to provide for the safety of all people at Messiah College, in addition to the PA Vehicle Code, the following Parking and Traffic Regulations are in effect for all conferences on campus. For the safety and enjoyment of all, it is our sincere hope that you will voluntarily comply with these regulations. If you have any questions about these provisions, you may contact the Messiah College Department of Safety at 691-6005.We thank you in advance for your cooperation in these matters. PARKING AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS FOR CONFERENCE ATTENDEES Parking Regulations 1. You must park in your assigned parking area at all times. DO NOT park in those spaces marked handicap, reserved, Department of Safety, custodial, or service area. 2. If you are loading or unloading items at an area other than your assigned parking area, you must leave your four-way flashers on. Immediately upon the conclusion of such loading or unloading, you must return your vehicle to the assigned parking area. In no event may you block any intersection or roadway.The maximum time allowed for loading and/or unloading is twenty-five (25) minutes. 3. The areas denoted in red are off-limits to conference attendees between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. 4. The purple parking area is designated for student parking only. Conference vehicles found in this area are subject to towing. Traffic Regulations 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Speeding is strictly prohibited.The maximum speed limit on campus is twenty-five (25) MPH. You must come to a complete stop at all stop signs. You must yield the right-of-way to all pedestrians in a crosswalk. Reckless and/or unsafe driving on campus is strictly prohibited. You must stop and/or yield the right-of-way for emergency vehicles. Penalties 1. You will be held personally responsible for any violation of the Parking and/or Traffic Regulations as contained in this bulletin. 2. For the initial violation of failing to register your vehicle or failing to display your permit, you may he issued a warning.Any subsequent violation will result in a fine of thirty (30) dollars being levied against you. 3. Each parking violation shall incur a penalty of twenty-five (25) dollars. 4. Each traffic violation shall incur a penalty of fifty (50) dollars. 5. Additionally, a parking violation could result in your vehicle being towed at your expense. 6. You may appeal any Parking/Traffic Citation.To accomplish this, you must contact the Department of Safety within five (5) days from the date of the citation. 7. Failure to pay levied fines may result in your being banned from the campus. 4/03
